CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JANUARY 10, 1967
Mayor Gottfried called the meeting to order at 7~37 P.M.
PRESENT - Mayor Gottfried, Aldermen Edmund Budish, Sivier Joost, Jr.
S. Robert Lentini, Roland Linck, Myron Weaver, Donald Wieselmann
and Walter Wollman. Also present were Clerk Bette Bowyer and Attorney
Reilly.
MINUTES - Alderman Budish moved to accept the Minutes of the meeting
held on December 27, 1966, seconded by Alderman Wollman, motion
carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Finance Committee - Alderman Linck presented the report of the
Finance Committee meeting held on January 4, 1967, and moved that
the report be accepted and placed on file. Seconded by Alderman
Budish, motion carried.
Public Works Committee - Alderman Wieselmann presented the report of
the Public Works Committee meeting held on January 5, 1967, and
moved that the report be accepted and placed on file. Seconded by
Alderman Wollman, motion carried.
Public Safety Committee - Alderman Lentini presented the report of
the Safety Committee meeting held on January 3, 1967, and moved
that the report be accepted and placed on file. Seconded by Alder-
man Linck, motion carried.
Public Welfare Committee - Alderman Budish presented the report of
the Public Welfare Committee meeting held on January 4, 1967, and
moved that the report be accepted and placed on file. Seconded by
Alderman Lentini, motion carried,
Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee - Alderman Joost presented the
report of the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee meeting held on
January 5, 1967, and moved that the report be accepted and placed
on file. Seconded by Alderman-Weaver, motion carried.
Plan Commission - The report of the Plan Commission meeting held on
January 3, 1967, was accepted and placed on file.
COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE MAYOR'S OFFICE
Mayor Gottfried reminded the Aldermen of the public hearing regarding
sanitary sewers in Racine Avenue to be held on Wednesday, January 11,
1967, at the Muskego High School.
Mayor Gottfried explained the new method of numbering resolutions
to the Aldermen.

NEW BUSINESS
Resolution #l-67 - The Clerk read Resolution #l-67, entitled,
Establishing the Policy Upon Which Interest Rates for Sewer Instal-
lation will be Charged. Alderman Weaver moved for the adoption of

Resolution #l-67, seconded by Alderman Wollman. Alderman Wieselmann
moved to amend Resolution #lr67 by adding the following words after
the word "charged", 3rd paragraph, line 2: "to the abutting property
owners where sewers are installed in the City of Muskego and". Also,
a
by adding the following words after the word "administration", 5th
paragraph, "and that this would apply to abutting property owners
where sewers were installed." Seconded by Alderman Budish. The
motion to amend Resolution #l-67 carried. Upon a roll call vote,
the motion to adopt Resolution #l-67, As Amended, carried unanimously.
*. Resolution 112-67 - The Clerk read Resolution i/2-67, entitled,
Requirements and Standards for Road Construction in the City of
Muskego. Alderman Budish moved for the adoption of Resolution l/2-67,
seconded by Alderman Wieselmann.

The motion to adopt Resolution
Resolution 1~3-67 - The Clerk read Resolution i/3-67, entitled,
Authorizing the Wisconsin Natural Gas Company to Install Mains
Along the Right-of-Ways of Streets in the City of Muskego. Alder-
man Budish moved for the adoption of Resolution 713-67, seconded by
Alderman Wieselmann. The motion to adopt Resolution #3-67 carried.
Resolution #4-67 - Alderman Budish moved to suspend the rules that
would interfere with the adoption of Resolution #4-67, seconded by
Alderman Wollman. Upon a roll call vote the motion to suspend the

Alderman Budish.iiioved-$or.-the--adoption of Resolution 84-67, seconded
by, Alderman Wieselmann. Upon a roll call vote, the motion to adopt
Resolution #4-67 carried unanimously.
Ordinance #58 - The Clerk gave the first reading of Ordinance #58,
entitled, An Ordinance Amending Ordinance #55 entitled, An Ordinance
Establishing Personnel and Establishing and Regulating the Salaries
and Other Compensations of Elected and Appointed Officers and
Employes of the City of Muskego. Alderman Weaver moved to suspend
the rules that would interfere with the adoption of Ordinance 1158,
seconded by Alderman'Lentini. Alderman Weaver spoke in favor of
suspending the rules as this would enable the Police and Fire
Commission to have more time to carry out the necessary work in-
volved in hiring a more qualified Chief of Police. Aldermen Wiesel-
mann and Budish spoke in opposition of suspending the rules. Upon
a roll call vote to suspend the rules, Aldermen Lentini and Weaver
voted "aye" and Aldermen Budish, Joost, Linck, Wieselmann and
Wollman voted "no". The motion to suspend the rules did not carry.
LICENSE DENIAL - Alderman Budish moved to deny a Class B Fermented
Malt Beverage and Intoxicating Liquor License for Mrs. Rose Feypel.

Seconded by Alderman Joost, motion carried.
VOUCHER APPROVAL - Alderman Linck moved that the Common Council
approve payment of vouchers in the amount of $3,518.42, payable
January 10, 1967. Seconded by Alderman Joost. Upon a roll call
vote the motion to pay the vouchers carried unanimously.

COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS
Mayor Gottfried thanked the members of the seventh grade class
of the Muskego Intermediate School and their teacher, Mrs.
Jacobson, for attending the Common Council meeting and for
their kind attention during the meeting.
ADJOURNMENT
Alderman Budish moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Alderman
Weaver. The meeting adjourned at 8:21 P. M.
