ccm19660412COMMON COUNCIL CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD APRIL 12th, 1966 The meeting was called to order at 7:45 P.M. by Mayor Gottfried. Present were Mayor Gottfried, Aldermen Arthur Bostater, Paul DeAngelis, Henry Hudziak, Myron Weaver, Donald Wieselmann, Henry Wolf and Edmund Budish. Also present were Clerk Bette Bowyer and Attorney Hippenmeyer. Minutes - Alderman Wolf moved that the minutes of the previous meeting held on March 22, 1966, be accepted as presented and placed on file. Seconded by Alderman Wleselmann and the motion carried. COMMITTEE REPORTS Finance Committee - Alderman Wolf presented the report of the Finance Committee meeting held on April 12, 1966, and moved that the report be accepted and placed on file. Seconded by Alderman Bostater. The motion to accept the report carried. Public Safety Committee m Alderman Bostater presented the report of the Public Safety Committee meeting held on March 24; 1966, and moved that the report be accepted and placed on file. Seconded by Alderman Hudziak and the motion carried. Public Welfare - No report. Public Works Committee - Alderman Wieselmann presented the report of the .Public Works Committee meeting held on April 7, 1966, and moved that the report be accepted and placed on file. Seconded by Alderman Budish and the motion carried. Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee - No report. Plan Commission - The report of the Plan Commission of April 4, 1966, was accepted and placed on file. COMMUNICATION FROM THE MAYORPS OFFICE Mayor Gottfried announced that the organizational meeting of the newly elected Common Council would be held at 6:30 P.M. on April 19, 1966. NEW BUSINESS Voucher Approval - Alderman Budish moved that the Common Council approve payment of vouchers in the amount of $26,140.60 payable to April 12, 1966. Seconded by Alderman Wolf. Upon a roll call vote the motion to approve payment of vouchers carried unanimously. License Approval - Alderman Budish moved that the Common Council approve Operatorts Licenses for Mrs. Freda Berube, John Churillo, Gilbert Gumieny and James Lovald. Seconded by Alderman Wolf and the motion carried. Alderman Wolf moved that the Common Council of the City of Muskego approve a Class "B" Fermented Malt & Liquor License for Mr. Fred Kenda. Seconded by Alderman Wieselmann and the motion carried. Resolution #l32 - The Clerk read Resolution #l32, i.e. Transfer of Funds from the General Fund to the Election Fund. Alderman Bostater moved for the adoption of Resolution #l32. Seconded Page 2. by Alderman Weaver. In answer to a question from Alderman Wieselmann as to what the unexpected expenses were in regard to the Election, Clerk Bette Bowyer answered that according to State Statutes duplicate copies of affidavit voter regis- tration cards are required. Binders and cards needed to be purchase . Upon a roll call vote the motion to adopt Resolution #l32 carried unanimously. Resolution #133 - The Clerk read Resolution #133 i.e., Letting Bids for Advertising for Official Newspaper. Alderman DeAngelis w moved that the Common Council of the City of Muskego adopt Resolution #133. Seconded by Alderman Budish and the motion carried. Resolution #134 - The Clerk read Resolution #134, i.e., To Authorize oavment to Victor Lemke for Assessment Error. Alder- manWolf mbv;d that the Common Council adopt Resolution #134, seconded by Alderman Hudziak. Alderman Wieselmann moved to amend Resolution #13 b deleting the last two words of the fifth paragraph "of k 5 12 0". Seconded by Alderman Weaver and the motion carried. Upon a roll call vote the motion to adopt Resolution #134, as amended, carried unanimously. CITY OFFICIALS REPORT l The Clerk read the Building Report for the Month of March, 1966, same to be placed on file. The Clerk presented the Financial Report showing a cash balance as of March 31, 1966, of $324,362.73. Same to be placed on file. Attorney Hippenmeyer reported that on April 13, 1966, at 3:00 P.M. in the City Hall, a conference would be held in regard to the proposed sewage lagoon site. County Board Supervisor Weaver reported on the last meeting of the 7&-member County Board. He commented on the salary increase range of all county employees, except the Sheriff Department employees, to be effective January 1, 1967. Supervisor Weaver also commented briefly on the construction collapse of a portion of the new University Building and stated that an extensive investigation is being conducted. COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS l The Clerk read a communication from Conley, McDonald, Sprague & Company directed to the Common Council and the Mayor, stating that the Auditor's report has been completed. The Clerk indicated that the financial report is on file in the office and any alderman or citizen who wishes to examine it would be welcome to do so. The Clerk read an inter-office communication directed to the Mayor and the Common Council from the Plan Commission in regard to the Electric Companycs proposed transmission line. At this time Alderman Budish moved that the Common Council go along with the wishes of the Plan Commission and ask that the new transmission line run parallel to the existing line as 'shown on the attached sketch. Seconded by Alderman Bostater and the motion carried. The Clerk read a communication from Mr. Raymond J. Herrmann, Director, Waukesha County Group, Department of Public Welfare stating that the 1966 Annual Meeting of the Board of Relief will be held on May 18th and requests that each Municipality have their Representative to the Board selected by that date. Page 3. The Clerk announced that the Muskego Blood Bank will be at the Muskego Fire House on April 19, 1966, from 2:00 P.M. to 8:oo P.M. The Clerk reported that Mr. Thomas Lynch of the Waukesha County Welfare Department will hold office hours in the City Hall from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 'P.M. on April 19 and April 26, 1966, for the purpose of discussing the Food Stamp Program. Also during the month of May the Department will hold office in the City Hall from 1:00 .P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Thursdas afternoons for the same purpose. The Clerk read a cora-cunication directed to Mayor Gottfried regarding the poor structural condition of the City Hall. Communication referred to the Public Safety Committee. The Clerk read a communication directed to Mayor Gottfried from Mr. Robert LeMaster requesting determination of status of Lot 4 Block 6, Muskego Shore. Communication referred to the Plan Commission. The Clerk reported that a petition has been received from Mr. Forrest Perkins regarding the rezoning of a portion of land in Section 4 in the City of Muskego. Petition referred l to the Plan Commission. Alderman Weaver moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Alderman Wieselmann, motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 8:36 P.M.
