PFA19980115 CITY OF MUSKEGO POLICE & FIRE COMMISSION MEETING January 15, 1998 7:30PM The regular meeting of the Police & Fire Commission of the City of Muskego was held on Thursday, January 15, 1998, in the conference room of the City of Muskego Police Department. The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM by President Michael Kuwitzky. Present were Commissioners Michael Kuwitzky, Robert Rammer, William Martin, and Chief John Johnson. Absent were Blenda Treba and Richard Horn. Commissioner Martin moved that the agenda be approved as printed. Seconded by Commissioner Rammer. Motion carried unanimously. Commissioner Rammer moved to approve the minutes from the October 16, 1997 meeting as published. Commissioner Martin seconded. Motion carried unanimously. REPORT FROM THE POLICE DEPARTMENT: 1. The Department hired Lisa Siemion who started recruit training on January th 12. 2. Chief Johnson talked about the building expansion and that the groundbreaking will be in April. Building plans were available for perusal. 3. The Firearms Range is moving along. The plans have been fitted to the site with a completion date of the end of the year on this project. 4. Chief Johnson discussed an upcoming discipline matter involving three officers. OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: The department reorganization was discussed. Charts were passed out and Chief Johnson talked about several reasons for the changes, with the middle of the year as an implementation date. The Commissioners were asked to give some thought as to how they would like to proceed with this process. MUSKEGO POLICE & FIRE COMMISSION MEETING January 15, 1998 Page 2 COMMUNICATIONS AND ANY OTHER MATTERS AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW: The Commissioners asked about the status of hiring a full-time fire chief for the City. The City is seeking a legal opinion on this matter and if needed, this will be put on the agenda for a future meeting. Commissioner Martin moved that the meeting be adjourned until April 23, 1998 at 7:30PM. Seconded by Commissioner Rammer and motion carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 8:40PM.
