pfcm20091022(UNAPPROVED) City of Muskego Police & Fire Commission Meeting The quarterly meeting of the Muskego Police & Fire Commission was held on Thursday, October 22, 2009 in the conference room of the City of Muskego Police Department. Commissioner Gleason called the meeting to order at 7:00PM. Pledge of Allegiance Roll call was taken with Commissioners Gleason, Treba, Sindic, Kuwitzky, and Mooney present. Statement of Public Notice was given to the press and posted to Tuesday, October 13, 2009. Commissioner Kuwitzky made a motion to approve the agenda items and Commissioner Mooney seconded. Motion carried unanimously. Commissioner Mooney made a motion to accept the minutes of the July 23, 2009 meeting. Commissioner Kuwitzky seconded and motion carried unanimously. REPORT FROM THE POLICE DEPARTMENT: Chief Geiszler reported the department had two officers off for family medical leave and a third officer is off at the present time. Officer Mahaffy resigned from the department. The common council will not allow that position to be filled until July 1, 2010. A discussion followed on the elimination of the CRO position. Chief Geiszler stated this will cause problems as the department needs to stay proactive. With the elimination of the CRO position, the department will experience difficulty in maintaining our present status and possibly have to cancel some programs. OLD BUSINESS: Nothing NEW BUSINESS: Election of Officers – Commissioner Treba made a motion for Commissioner Gleason to continue in the position of President and Commissioner Sindic seconded. Motion carried unanimously. Commissioner Sindic made a motion for Commissioner Kuwitzky for the position of Vice President/Secretary and Commissioner Treba seconded with motion carrying unanimously. COMMUNICATIONS AND OTHER MATTERS AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW: Nothing Muskego Police & Fire Commission Meeting October 22, 2009 Page 2 The next meeting will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2010. Commissioner Mooney made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Kuwitzky seconded, motion carried unanimously. Meeting was adjourned at 7:50PM.
