City of Muskego Police & Fire Commission Meeting
Minutes
April 19, 2007
The meeting of the Muskego Police & Fire Commission was held on Thursday, April 19,
2007 in the conference room of the City of Muskego Police Department. Commissioner
Rammer call the meeting to order at 7:00PM.
Pledge of Allegiance
Roll call was taken with Commissioners Rammer, Treba, Gleason, Sindic, and Kuwitzky
present.
State of Public Notice was given to the press and posted on Thursday, April 12, 2007.
Commissioner Gleason made a motion to approve the agenda items and Commissioner
Sindic seconded. Motion carried unanimously.
Commissioner Sindic made a motion to accept the minutes of the February 8, 2007
meeting. Commissioner Kuwitzky seconded and motion carried unanimously.
REPORT FROM THE POLICE DEPARTMENT:
• The City is still in the process of completing the salary proposal. City had
directed the Chief to come up with a new salary range for the non-represented
employees. City gave approval of filling the position of Captain and Tuesday,
April 24, 2007, the Common Council will continue to discuss the salary proposal.
Commissioner Rammer asked for a copy of the salary proposal to be used as a
reference.
• Chief Geiszler stated we are still in the process of hiring two new officers. The
Department is waiting for the state written exam scores and will proceed from
there.
• An officer in the field-training phase has had the probation period extended.
OLD BUSINESS:
• Nothing
NEW BUSINESS:
• The eligible list was discussed and will be going from the current list.
• Approval of recent promotions: Chief Geiszler explained the process for each
position.
o Captain’s promotion – John La Tour was promoted to the position by
Chief Geiszler.
o Lt. promotion – after interviews, the Chief appointed Craig Moser.
o Staff Sergeant promotion – after interviews, James Kaebisch was
promoted to the position.

o Sergeant promotion – Chad Dornbach was promoted to the position after
interviews were conducted.
Commissioner Kuwitzky made a motion to approve the promotions of Captain,
Lt. Staff Sgt. and Sgt. Commissioner Sindic seconded and motion passed
unanimously.
• Chief Geiszler explained, that since we are short on manpower, the promotions
are in effect but each officer will stay on his present schedule and continue their
work until such time the Department is fully staffed.
COMMUNICATIONS AND OTHER MATTERS AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW:
Nothing
The next meeting will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 7:00PM.
Commissioner Kuwitzky moved for the meeting to be adjourned. Commissioner Treba
seconded and motion carried unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 8:05PM
