pfcm20040715i'~ CITY OF MUSKEGO POLICE & FIRE COMMISSION MEETING Thursday, July 15, 2004 The regular meeting of the Police & Fire Commission of the City of Muskego was held on Thursday, July 15, 2004 in the conference room of the City of Muskego Police Department. President Kuwitzky called the meeting to order at 7:30PM. Pledge of Allegiance Roll call was conducted and present were Commissioners Michael Kuwitzky, Robert Rammer, Brenda Treba, and Lewis Lehman. Commissioner Terry Sindic was excused. The Statement of Public Notice was posted at City Hall and the Police Department on July 8th and given to the press on July 13th. Commissioner Rammer made a motion to approve the agenda items with Commissioner Lehman seconding. Motion carried unanimously. Commissioner Lehman made a motion to approve the minutes from the April 15, 2004 meeting. Commissioner Rammer seconded and motion carried unanimously. . REPORT FROM THE POLICE DEPARTMENT: 1. The Family Open House on May 25, 2004 was a success. Many families attended, several of which have never visited. A future Open House will be held on September 11, 2004, at the Firearms Range with a barbecue to follow. 2. An officer will be leaving (unknown when) due to moving out-of-state to be nearer family. 3. There have been several reassignments recently and Lt. Kukowski was reassigned to the Patrol Division, and Staff Sgt. Constantineau was reassigned to the Special Services Division. 4. The 2005 Budget is being worked on and is due to the City August 6, 2004. OLD BUSINESS: Nothing NEW BUSINESS: 1. Election of Officers - Commissioner Lehman nominated Commissioner Kuwitzky for President and Commissioner Blenda Treba seconded. Motion carried unanimously. Commissioner Lehman nominated Commissioner Rammer for the position of Secretary. Commissioner Treba seconded and motion carried unanimously. 2. Chief Johnson explained the present eligibility list is two years old and per Commission policy the eligibility list expires automatically after one year. Commissioner Lehman made a motion to establish a new eligibility list and Commissioner Rammer seconded. Motion carried unanimously. The ad will run in the Milwaukee Journal July 25th and August 15t with a deadline for receiving applications on August 16,2004. . t~ . . COMMUNICATIONS AND OTHER MATTERS AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW: Nothing The next meeting of the Muskego Police & Fire Commission will be held on Thursday, October 21,2004 at 7:30PM. Commissioner Rammer made a motion to move into Closed Session pursuant to State Statute 19.85 (1) (b) and State Statute 19.85 (1) (f), Wisconsin Stats. Commissioner Lehman seconded and motion carried unanimously. : Considering dismissal, demotion or discipline of a public employee, and: Considering disciplinary data of specific persons or the investigation of specific personnel problems or changes against specific persons, which, if discussed in public, would be likely to have a substantial adverse effect upon the reputation of any person involved in such problems or investigation. Specifically to be discussed are facts and circumstances involved with the report to be filed with the Police & Fire Commission pursuant to sec. 62.13 (5) Wis. Stats. Regarding James P. Kaebisch. The Muskego Police & Fire Commission reconvened into Open Session to continue the remaining agenda items. Commissioner Rammer made the motion and Commissioner Lehman seconded, motion carried unanimously. Commissioner Lehman moved for the meeting to be adjourned.
