CITY OF MUSKEGO POLICE & FIRE COMMISSION MEEETING
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 16, 2014
The regular meeting of the City of Muskego Police & Fire Commission was held on Thursday, January 16,
2014, in the conference room of the City of Muskego Police Department. Commissioner Kuwitzky called
the meeting to order at 5:00PM.
Pledge of Allegiance
Roll call was taken with Commissioners Kuwitzky, Gleason, Treba, and Mooney present. Commissioner
Whittow was excused.
Statement of Public Notice was given to the press and posted on Monday, January 13, 2014.
Commissioner Mooney made a motion to accept the agenda items and Commissioner Treba seconded.
Motion carried unanimously.
Commissioner Treba made a motion to accept the minutes from the January 4, 2014 meeting.
Commissioner Mooney seconded and motion carried unanimously.
Report From the Police Department:
Officer Majors has resigned from the department.
The department is down five positions and backgrounds have been started. One has been
eliminated due to an alcohol related arrest.
Lt. Jim Rozeski is attending Northwestern Police Staff and Command School which lasts 11
weeks.
Officer Shawn Diedrich is the K-9 handler and will be working with Sirius on the 7PM to 3AM
shift. They have had several deployments and training is progressing.
SCIT handled fourteen calls of which three were in our city.
Chief discussed the 2011 to 2013 accreditation which will be held in September. Sgt. Lynkiewicz
and Executive Assistant Wissing are in charge.
Citizens Academy will be starting the spring tern in March.
The department will be receiving a new digital radio system and will find out soon about the
time frame for the changeover.

Review of Standard Operating Guidelines – the process was reviewed and changes will be made.
All paperwork involved in the hiring process will be placed into binders for each commissioner
after all changes/additions have been made.
Discussion of moving the meetings from the police department to city hall - Commissioner
Mooney made a motion to have the police & fire commission meetings remain at the police
department unless circumstances warrant a change to city hall. Commissioner Gleason
seconded and motion carried unanimously.

NOTICE OF CLOSED SESSION
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Police & Fire Commission of the City of Muskego will convene upon
passage of a proper motion into closed session pursuant to State Statute, 19.85 (1) ( c): Considering
employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over
which the governing body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility for the specific purpose of
considering employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data, more specifically
for the purpose of reviewing the oral interview questions and time period for each interview.
Commissioner Mooney made a motion to go into closed session. Commissioner Gleason seconded and
motion carried unanimously. The commission moved into closed session at 5:25PM.
The commissioners wish to have the time allotment for interviews to be at 30 minute
increments.
A review of the oral interview questions for the position of police officer was done and changes
will be made. The questions will also be placed into the binder for the commissioners.
A motion was made to move back into open session by Commissioner Mooney at 6:00PM.
Commissioner Treba seconded and motion carried unanimously.
The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 17, 2014.
Commissioner Mooney made a motion to adjourn and Commissioner Gleason seconded. Motion carried
unanimously and the meeting was adjourned at 6:05PM.
