The regular meeting of the Police & Fire Commission of the City of Muskego was held
on Thursday, October 19. 2000 in the Conference Room of the City of Muskego Police
Department. President Michael Kuwitzky called the meeting to order at 7:30PM.
Present were Commissioners Blenda Treba, Richard Petfalski. and Terry Sindic.
Commissioner Rammer was absent,
Terry Sindic was introduced at the newest Commissioner
It was noted the public notice was given to the press and posted at City Hall and the
Police Department on October 13. 2000.
Commissioner Petfalski made a motion to accept the agenda items and Commissioner
Treba seconded. Motion carried unanimously.
Commissioner Petfalski made a motion to approve the July 20, 2000 minutes.
Commissioner Treba seconded. motion carried unanimously
REPORT FROM THE POLICE DEPARTMENT

Staff Sergeants (the senior sergeant) and three Sergeants ( the junior sergeant).
The majority of the year there would always be a trained supervisor on duty to
cover each shift.
3. The Department received the resignation of Lt. James Budish who will be
retiring on January 19. 2001
4. The realignment of shifts was discussed whereby the Department would be
going from four shifts to three shifts and each shift would relieve itself.
5. The 800MHz system will be implemented shortly throughout the entire city.
OLD BUSINESS:
A written policy and procedure for the hiring of a chief of police was discussed
and the first reading was done. After adoption of this policy it will be kept in the
tile for future use.
The 2’Id reading of the “Recruitment Process and Procedures” was done.

NEW BUSINESS:
An election of officers was held with Michael Kuwitzky approved for President
and Richard Petfalski as Vice-president and Secretary.
COMMUNICATIONS AND OTHER MATTERS AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW
The present eligibility list was discussed and it was decided to continue with the
present list when hiring in 2001,
The next meeting will be held on Thursday. January 18, 2001 at 7:30PM
Commissioner Petfalski moved that the meeting be adjourned. Commissioner Treba
seconded, motion carried unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 8:3OPM.
