pfcm19950316POLICE AND FIRE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MUSKEG0 A Special Meeting of the Police and Fire Commission of the City of Muskego was held on Thursday, March 16, 1995, in the conference room of the Muskego Police Department. The meeting was called to order at 1:34PM by President Kreuser. Present were Commissioners Robert Kreuser, Richard Horn, and Blenda Treba; Chief Johnson and Lt. Daley from the Police Department. Commissioners Haag and Martin were absent. It was noted that the meeting agenda was posted and submitted to the press on 3/09/95. The reason for the meeting was outlined in the attached memo sent to the Commissioners from President Kreuser. The oral interview procedure was discussed. It was decided that the questions asked the candidates should be updated including qualifications and characteristics such as honesty, integrity, etc. that are pertinent to professional police work. These questions must be based for entry level candidates with no experience. Chief Johnson was requested to have his police staff draft such a set of questions. If an interviewer has personal knowledge of a finalist, the information should be given to the Oral Board. Com. Treba made a motion that the Commission policy of April 11, seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. 1991, Release of Written Test Scores, be rescinded. Com. Horn Com. Horn made a motion that all candidates be notified of their written test scores as soon as possible after they are received by unanimously. the Executive Secretary. Seconded by Com. Treba. Motion carried Chief Johnson requested that a physical fitness test be administered to applicants as a part of the hiring procedure. The criteria for this proposed test was discussed (copy attached). The test would be administered by Mike Nitka, a physical education teacher and specialist, at the High School. Com. Horn moved to approve the Cooper physical fitness test be included in the hiring procedure. Com. Kreuser removed himself with Com. Treba voting no. The suggestion was made that a fitness from the Chair and seconded the motion. The motion passed 2 to 1 center possibly be used for this test in the future. Horn Secretary cs As per the Commission policy of 4/11/91, Approval of Hiring an Officer, the Commissioners were contacted by phone by Carol on March 30 and 31, 1995 for a conditional approval for hiring of Michelle Jolitz and Jennifer Rublein as police officers, contingent on their passing the psychological, medical and drug screening examinations. All Commissioners approved same.
