pfcm19941019POLICE AND FIRE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MUSKEG0 The regular quarterly meeting of the Police and Fire Commission of conference room of the Muskego Police Department. The meeting was the City of Muskego was held on Wednesday, October 19, 1994, in the Commissioners Robert Kreuser, James Haag, Richard Horn, William called to order at 7:33PM by President Kreuser. Present were Martin, and Blenda Treba; and Chief Johnson. Com. Haag made a motion that the agenda be approved as published Kreuser. Seconded by Com. Horn. Motion carried unanimously. including the review of tavern licensing as requested by Pres. The regular July quarterly meeting was cancelled as several members were unable to attend and there was no special business to handle. Com. Martin moved that the minutes of the regular quarterly meeting of April 21, 1994 and the Special Meeting of May 12, 1994 be approved as published. Seconded by Com. Treba. Motion carried unanimously. Chief Johnson reported the following: It has come to the Chief's attention that tavern licenses are held by the tavern owner after the business has terminated and then the without City approval. He feels the license should be returned to tavern owner holds it or sells it to another party. This is done the City after a specified time period so the City can control the licenses. He has suggested that the City Ordinance be redone. Kreuser reported that some tavern owners had contacted him about Several tavern owners are very upse't with this matter. Com. it. The tavern owners were also complaining about the "Sting Operation" conducted by the Police Department which the Chief also explained. OLD BUSINESS: There was none. NEW BUSINESS: 1. Chief reported that the D.A.R.E. program is being very well reported some rather unfavorable things about it from large received by the community even though the newspapers have began. The County possibly will be funding this program in cities that had many problems before the D.A.R.E. program 1995. 2. The Chief answered questions regarding the 1995 Police Budget which had been distributed to all commissioners. The Department hopes to hire two new officers in 1995, one possibly in January and one in April. In answer to questions regarding requests for new equipment, he stated the Department tries to provide the best and latest equipment and maintenance of it for the safety of the officers.
