CITY OF HUSKEGO
July 12, 1990
The regular quarterly meeting of the Police and Fire Commission of the City of
Huskego vas held on Thursday, July 12, 1990, in the conference room of the
Huskego Police Department. The meeting was called to order at 7:33PM by
President Kreuser. Present were Commissioners Robert Kreuser, Lev DeBack,
James Raag, Richard Rorn, and Blenda Treba; and olief Johnson.
Cornmissioner Horn moved that the minutes of the April 19, 1990 meeting be
approved as published. Seconded by Commissioner Aaag. Motion carried unan-
imously.
Chief Johnson reported that the study for a Consolidated Dispatch Center by
several Waukesha County communities has been tabled as it is not economically
feasible at this time. Our department and New Berlin Police Department are
researching the possibility of utilizing the same radio back-up system. The
grievance filed by Telecommunicator Becker is still pending.
OLD BUSINESS: The legal opinions received from City Attorney Don Molter
regarding the application of State Statute 162.13 to the powers of our
Commission were discussed. It was the consensus of the Commission that the
Commission had brought the issue to the table, it had been investigated by the
City Attorney and since the legal opinions are ambiguous, the Commission's 0 powers should remain status quo unless otherwise directed by the Muskego
Comn Council.
NEV BUSINESS: Chief Johnson explained that he had sent a letter in response
to a complaint received from John Mesich. The complainant does not wish to
pursue the matter any further.
Chief Johnson reported on the disciplinary action taken on May 15, 1990
against Officer Mielke.
Commissioner Raag emphasized that the Commissioners should attend the seminars
distributed to the Commissioners as it is received.
