POLICE AND FIRE COMMISSION OF THE
CIlY OF MUSKEGO
April 7, 1988
The regular quarterly meeting of the Police and Fire Commission of the
City of Muskego was held on Thursday, April 7, 1988, in the conference room of
the Police Department. The meeting was called to order at 7:40PM by President
Horn and Blenda Treba; and Chief Johnson. Commissioner James Haag was absent.
Purdy. Present were President Purdy; Commissioners Robert Kreuser, Richard
Commissioner Kreuser moved for the adoption of the minutes of the Janu-
ary 14, 1988 meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Treba. Motion carried unan-
imously.
Chief Johnson reported the following:
1. Due to the deterioration of Sgt. Warhanek's physical condition, he
has been sent to the City's doctors for evaluation. He is claiming
he has applied for disability retirement, as well as being diagnosed
physical complications due to injuries sustained on duty, for which
by the City's doctors as having Parkinson's disease. He was placed
on light duty on December 14, 1987, but due to lack of light duty
work he was put on sick leave effective February 28, 1988. He has
sufficient sick and vacation time accumulated to carry him to August.
2. Work on the emergency phone 911 for Waukesha County has moved a
little closer to a reality. The City of Muskego has approved it but
there are still some communities that are holding it up.
3. Officer Esser seem much improved since on extended probationary
period.
President Purdy requested information on the police officers' labor
contract. Chief Johnson reported that the contract has been settled with a

NEW BUSINESS: Chief Johnson requested that educational standards be set for
the positions of Chief#-. Educational standards have only been
established for the entry level position. It was the consensus of the Board
that they will continue as is without these standards being specifically
spelled out.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS: Commissioner Horn moved that the same officers be
retained for another year. Seconded by Commissioner Treba. Motion carried
unanimously. Officers for the coming year will be President - Kenneth Purdy
and Vice President/Secretary - Robert-geuser.
COHMUNICATIONS: There were none.
The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July
