City of Muskego was held on Thursday, January 14, 1988, in the conference room
The regular quarterly meeting of the Police and Fire Commission of the
of the Police Department. The meeting was called to order at 7:05pM by
President Purdy. Present were President Purdy; Commissioners Robert Kreuser,
James Haag, and Richard Horn; and Chief Johnson. Commissioner Blenda Treba
was absent.
Commissioner Raag moved for the adoption of the minutes of the Octo-
ber 22. 1987 meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Kreuser. Motion carried
unanimously.
Chief Johnson reported the following:
1. The State has approved a $123,000 Drug Grant to be used by CODE
(Cooperative Drug Enforcement Group of Waukesha County) of which our
department is a part.
2. Work is continuing on the emergency phone 911 for Waukesha County.
Political matters in the northwest part of the county are delaying
it.
3. The probationary period for Officer Esser has been extended for an
additional 180 days with the consent of the Police Association.
4. The City is negotiating the 1988 contract with the Police
Association. The salary settlement will probably place our officers
mid-range for police officers in the Milwaukee metropolitan area.
5. Chief Johnson requested that the Commission establish standards for
and Lieutenants. It was decided to place this matter on the agenda
promotions especially regarding educstional background for the Chief
for the April meeting.
OLD BUSINESS: It was decided that since the status of the eligibility list
meeting. If a vacancy occurs prior to that time, a special meeting of the
remains the same, the list should be extended and reviewed at the next
Commission should be called or a phone survey conducted to ascertain if a new
eligibility list should be established. In the mean time, the candidates on
the present list should be contacted to see if they are still interested in
our department.

COMKUNICATIONS: There were none.
commissioners had conflicts with other dates.
It was decided to schedule the next meeting for April 7 at 7:30PM 88 some
Commissioner Hasg. Motion carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned at
Commissioner Kreuser moved that the meeting be adjourned; seconded by
7:40W.
