pfcm19870129POLICE AND FIRE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MUSKEGO January 29, 1987 City of Muskego was held on Thursday, January 29, 1987, in the conference room The regular quarterly meeting of the Police and Fire Commission of the of the Police Department. The meeting was called to order at 8:07pM by President Purdy. Present were President Purdy; Secretary Kreuser; Commissioners James Haag, Richard Horn, and Blenda Treba; and Chief Johnson. Officers Todd Nelson and Timothy Esser were introduced to the Commissioners. Commissioner Horn moved that the minutes of the October 2, 1986 meeting be approved as presented. Seconded by Commissioner Haag. Motion carried unanimously. Chief Johnson reported the following information: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Officer Michael Hibben resigned on September 18, 1986 and Officer Frank Sturnot resigned on October 23, 1986. Officers Timothy Esser and David Constantineau were hired effective January 19, 1987 to fill Recruit School at W.C.T.I. with graduation scheduled for March 13. these vacancies. Officer Constantineau is presently attending The 1987 budget was approved by the Common Council with only two items cut. One was the International Association of Chiefs of Police Conference and the other a capital budget item, a computer printer. The final phase of the IBH computer is being installed. This will eventually be integrated with 911 phones. The Capital Budget item of remodeling the clerical area has begun. additional personnel. Chief Johnson replied that his payout included pay for 268 hours Commissioner Kreuser questioned if Frank Sturnot received sick pay when of accumulated sick time as per the 1986 contract with the Muskego Police Association. Commissioner Kreuser stated that he thought that interviewing 23 police After discussing the matter it was unanimously decided that in the future that interviews establishing an eligibility list be held from 8AM to 4PM with the number of candidates limited to between 15 and 20. Commissioner Kreuser moved that the two new officers, David Constantineau and Timothy Esser, be approved. Seconded by Commissioner Horn. Motion carried unanimously. CORRESPONDENCE: Commissioner Haag reported that Richard Knudsen had contacted him reference a situation in which Mr. Knudsen was involved. Other Commissioners decided that the matter allegedly was handled properly. stated they also had been contacted. The situation was discussed and it vas meeting be scheduled for April 23, 1987.
