October 18, 1984
The regular quarterly meeting of the Police and Fire Commission of
the City of Muskego was held on Thursday, October 18, 1984, in the
conference room of the Police Department. The meeting was called to
order at 8:07PM by President Swarthout. Present were President
Swarthout, Walter Bohrer, Robert Kreuser, Kenneth Purdy and Chief
Scholz. Richard Horn was absent.
The minutes of the July 19, 1984 meeting were read. Mr. Purdy
moved that the minutes be accepted as read. Seconded by Mr. Bohrer.
Motion carried unanimously.
The minutes of the Special Meeting of September 27, 1984 were
read. Mr. Bohrer moved to accept these minutes as read. Seconded by
Mr. Purdy. Motion carried unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS :
Mr. Bohrer made the motion that the 25 applicants with the highest
scores from the written exam be interviewed. Seconded by Mr. Purdy.
Motion carried unanimously.
The motion was made by Mr. Purdy that 15 minute oral interviews of
these top 25 candidates be conducted on October 27, 1984. Seconded by
Mr. Kreuser. Motion carried unanimously.
The oral board will consist of Commissioners Swarthout, Horn,
Kreuser, and Purdy and Police Lieutenant Johnson.
NEW BUSINESS:
The election of Vice President/Secretary was held due to the
resignation of Commissioner Randy Young who had held that position. Mr.

Purdy nominated Robert Kreuser for the position. Seconded by Mr.
Bohrer. Ms. Swarthout nominated Richard Horn for the position. There
was no second to this nomination. Mr. Purdy moved that nominations be
closed. Seconded by Mr. Bohrer. Motion carried unanimously. Robert
Kreuser was unanimously elected as Vice President/Secretary.
CORRESPONDENCE:
President Swarthout reports receiving a letter from a citizen
requesting to be on the Commission's agenda for this meeting. The
citizen was advised by President Swarthout that the request was received
too late for this meeting but the next meeting is January 17, 1985.
The next regular meeting of the Commission is scheduled for January
17, 1985.
Mr. Kreuser moved to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Mr.
Purdy.. Motion carried unanimously.
