January 29, 1980
The Police and Fire Commission of the City of Muskego held their
quarterly meeting on Tuesday, January 29, 1980, in the conference room
of the Muskego Police Department. The meeting was called to order at
8:OZPM by President Horn. Present were President Horn, Secretary Swarthout,
Mr. Bohrer, and Chief Scholz. Mr. Lindner and Mr. Moser were absent.
The minutes of the November 13, 1979 meeting were approved as read
by Chief Scholz.
OLD BUSINESS: President Horn questioned Chief Scholz regarding a letter
from Judith Klenz. Chief Scholz read the letter and then discussed MKS.
Klenz's alternatives. A letter in reply was sent to her from President
Horn stating this matter was out of our jurisdiction.

President Horn read two letters of appointment written by Chief
Scholz. he was written to Paul Geiszler on his appointment to patrol
officer effective January 7, 1980. The second letter was to Officer
Wolfgram promoting him to the position of Sergeant effective January 7.
1980.
Chief Scholz reported that the Muskego Woman's Club will sponsor
the "Safety Town" program this year as it was cut from the police budget.
The program will be held on August 11 - 22, 1980 with hours being 9:30AM - 11:30AM and 12:30PM - 2:30PM.
Marsha Swarthout inquired about the two officers who were disciplined.

NEW BUSINESS: Chief Scholz reported that the cadet's position is now
vacant due to the former cadet, Robert Eckert, being promoted to the
position of Dispatcher-Clerk effective January 1, 1980 when a Dispatcher
resigned. The Finance Committee classify this position as a temporary
one but they have approved the filling of it.
The position was advertised and eight candidates have applied. They
will take a State written test on February 9, 1980. On February 16, 1980
oral interviews will be held at the police station with the oral board
consisting of Mr. Horn, Marsha Swarthout, Mr; Moser. and Lt. Zabel. Mr.
Bohrer and Chief Scholz will also be in attendance at these interviews.
It was decided that each member of the oral board will compose three ques-
tions to ask the applicants. If all candidates are unqualified, then'the
position should be readvertised.
Chief Scholz reported that all officers will be attending W.C.T.I. on
March 15 to renew their first-aid training.
A survey questionnaire from the Greenfield Fire and Police Commission
was read and answers compiled so it could be returned.
The next Commissioner's meeting is scheduled for April 22. The agenda
will include whether or not to renew the eligibility list.
Marsha Swarthout moved that the meeting be adjourned. Seconded by Mr.
Bohrer. The meeting adjourned at 9:35PM.
