pfcm19760819MUSKEGO POLICE & FIRE COMMISSION August 19, 1976 The Police & Fire Commission Meeting of August 19, 1976 was called to order by President William Ahrens at 8:09 p.m. with the following members present. Mr. Ahrens, Mr. Bohrer, Mr. Lindner and Police Chief Ervin W. Kraus. It was the consenses of the commission to have a minimum of four meetings per year. The title of the commission was checked in State Statutes 62.11 and the Correct title is Police & Fire Commission of the City of Muskego. The minutes of the last meeting dated November 6, 1975 were read. The following corrections were made: 1. The- reference to'"an eligibility list" should be changed to read "all eligibility lists" 2. Strike the words "Motion carried" at the end of Mr. Horns motion. 3. At the end of Mr. Ahrens amendment change the words "Motion carried" to "Amendment carried" and add the words "Motion as amended carried." A copy of the corrected minutes will be sent to the commissioners. The minutes of the last meeting were approved with the noted corrections. Under Old Business, Mr. Ahrens opened the nominations for President. Mr. Lindner nominated Mr. Ahrens for the office of President and Mr. Bohrer seconded the nomination. Mr. Lindner moved that the nominations for president be closed and Mr. Bohrer seconded the motion. Mr. Lindner then moved that the secretary be instructed to cast a unanamious ballot for Mr. Ahrens as president. Mr. Bohrer seconded the motion and the motion carried. Mr. Ahrens opened the nominations for secretary and Vice Chairman. Mr. Bohrer nominated Mr. Horn for the.office,of. Secretary and Vice Chairman and Mr. Lindner seconded the nomination. Mr. Lindner moved that the nominations for Secretary and Vice Chairman be closed and Mr. Bohrer seconded the motion. Mr. Ahrens then moved that the secretary be instructed to cast a unanamious ballot for Mr. Horn as Secretary and Vice Chairman. Mr. Lindner seconded the motion and the motion carried. I August 19, 1976 Page 2 Chief Kraus reported that Cadet Larson has been promoted to police officer. Mr. Bohrer moved that the Commission approve the promotion and Mr. Lindner seconded the motion. Motion carried. Chief Kraus advised the Commission of the oral examination for a new cadet will be held Saturday, the 21st day of August at City Hall for the 18 applicants that passed the written examination. Mr. Ahrens stated he would like to see full participation of the Commissioners in the examination process for cadets so that Police & Fire Commission responsibilities are fulfilled in recruiting and testing personnel appointed to the department. Mr. Horn arrived at 8:40 p.m. and was briefed on the foregoing commission business. Mr. Lindner made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:55 p.m. The motion to adjourn was seconded by Mr. Horn.
