pfcm19720323CITY OF MUSKEGO POLICE AND FIRE COMMISSION MEETING March 23, 1972 a e was called to order by President William Ahrens on Thursday, March 23, 1972 at 8:OO pm in the office of the Chief of Police. The March meeting of the Fire and Police Commission for the Citv of Muskego Members present were Mr. William Ahrens, Mr. Walter Bohrer, Mr. Richard Horn, Mr. Warren Moser and Chief of Police, Ervin W. Kraus. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved as read. Chief Kraus informed the Commissioners that he had hired Mr. Richard Eddings effective January 1, 1972 off the old eligibility list to replace Officer Dichard Glas. Mr. Moser motioned to approve the appointment of Officer Eddings. The motion was seconded by Mr. Horn and the motion passed unanimously. signed from the Department effective April 1, 1972. Mr. Bohrer motioned that Officer Robert Klenz, the top man on the Sergeant's promotional list, be promoted to the rank of Sergeant to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Sgt. Yeyer. This promotion to be effective April 1, 1972. The motion was seconded by Mr. Moser and the motion passed unanimously. Chief Kraus informed the Commissioners that Sergeant Leslie Meyer had re- completed on the two remaining men on the old eligibility list. Chief Kraus informed the Commissioners that background checks had been #1 Peter Simet - Is working for Milwaukee PD. No longer interested in the position. #2 Robert Redmerski - Received a marginal psychological. No further consideration will be given to his application. As this depleted the old eligibility list, Mr. Ahrens and Chief Kraus had meeting. Mr. Moser motioned that we retain the services of the Bureau of arranged for Mr. Bob Spies from the Bureau of Personnel to be present at this motion was seconded by Mr. Horn and the motion passed unanimously. Personnel for the purpose of running the examination for the new patrolman. The A time schedule was set up by the Commissioners with the assistance of Mr. Spies. Advertising will begin on April 3rd with a filing deadline of April 12. The written examination will be held on April 28th; the oral examination on May 13th. The Commissioners will give the oral examination. Up-grading the qualifications was discussed by the Commissioners. It was decided to raise the minimum requirements to two (2) years of college (60 credits) or two (2) years of police experience and one (1) year of college.
