pfcm19711013CITY OF MUSKEG0 POLICE AND FIRE COMMISSION MEETING October 13, 1971 The October meeting of the Fire and Police Commission for the City of Muskego was called to order by President William Ahrens on Thursday, October 13, 1971 in the office of the Chief of Police. Members present were Mr. William Ahrens, Mr. Walter Bohrer, Mr. Richard Horn, Mr. Bernard Lindner, Mr. Warren Moser and Chief of Police, Ervin W. Kraus. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved as read. Chief Kraus informed the Commissioners that the City of Muskego had been granted two patrolmen under the Emergency Employment Act of 1971. Under the provisions of this Act priority must be given to unemployed or underemployed veterans of Viet Nam or Indo-China since 1964. They must also live in a high unemployment area. The cities that we may choose men from are Muskego, New Berlin, Waukesha (city of) and Menomonee Falls (village of). These people must also register with the Unemployment Office in Waukesha. Otherwise no other artificial barrier, such as a minimum height, can be imposed. eligibility list for six (6) months in order to comply with the Emergency Mr. Moser motioned that the Commissioners temporarily suspend the old Employment Act. The motion was seconded by Mr. Horn. Mr. Ahrens, Mr. Bohrer, Mr. Horn and Mr. Moser voted in favor of the motion; Mr. Lindner vetoed it. The motion passed. A tenative schedule was set up by the Commissioners. Advertising will be in the Waukesha Freeman and the Hub with a deadline date for filing of October 25, 1971. Oral examinations will be given on Tuesday, October 26th. Pschological examinations will be scheduled for the top three men on October 28th and 29th. The top two men that are successful in completing all phases will be hired to begin a condensed basic training school on Nov- ember 1st.
