POLICE AND FIRE COMMISSION MEETING
November 19, 1970
of Muskego was called to order by President William Ahrens on Thursday,
November 19, 1970 at 8:OO pm in the office of the Chief of Police.
The November meeting of the Fire and Police Commission for the City
Members present were Mr. William Ahrens, Mr. Walter Bohrer, Mr.
Richard Horn, Mr. Warren Moser and Chief of Police, Ervin W. Kraus.

permit Mr. Bob Spies from the State Bureau of Personnel to discuss prepa-
rations for the setting up of an eligibility list for future vacancies.
The motion was seconded and the reading of the minutes was postponed.

the deadline for applications to be in will be December 24th; written
examination will be given on January 9th, and the oral examination on
Saturday, January 30th, 1971. The test given will be a general intel-
ligence and job knowledge combination.
A tenative time schedule was set up by the Commissioners with the
basically the same with adjustments of the date and starting salary.
The other change will be that, instead of a minimum requirement of a
high school diploma, one year of college or two years of work in the law
enforcement field will now be required.

The possibility of a Juvenile Officer position was discussed with
Mr. Spies in relation to the type of test that would be given and who
will be eligibile to take it. It was decided that, if the position is
granted, the test would be given shortly after the first of the year and
it would be an intra-department promotion.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Chief Kraus reported to the Commissioners on the status of the
four remaining men on the old eligibility list.
(1) Mr. Wayne Brown -- received a negative background check. No
further consideration will be given to his application.
(2) Mr. Thomas Pecor -- was successful in the background check.
