POLICE AND FIRE COWSSION NemING

The Pbeeting of the Police and Fire Commission was called to order at
8:05 p.m. on September 12, 1968 by President William Ahrens in the
office of the Chief of Police. The Colmnission first met in executive
session to discuss a personnel matter. All the members of the Com-
mission were present at the meeting.
Mr Ahrens reported that, after mailing out the notes which were taken
of the State Bureau of Personnel, he received the required majority
at the meeting which he and Mr Walter Bohrer had with Mr Larry Tainter
contacted Mr Tainter to proceed with the plans.

case. Mr Ahrens suggested that this could cause cmplications, as it
might be necessary to re-advertise for the position. Mr Ahrens advised

Chief Kraus also reported that he had received a request for an appli-
cation from a party who isppresently serving in Vietnam. Chief Kraus
sent the party an application for the position. The testing would be
done through the U S Army Personnel Department.
A discussion was held to pick a meeting date for October. This meeting
willhbe with the representative from the State Bureau of Personnel and
should be at the beginning of the month so applicants willbbe able to
take the State examination on October 19, 1968. The Corrmisiion picked
ober 4, 1968 at 8:00 p.m., (2) Wednesday, October 2, 1968 at 8:30 p.m.

he would check with the Bureau of Personnel representative and advise
the members of the meeting date.
