The monthly meeting of

It was noted that this meeting was posted on October 5, 1995, in accordance with the Open Meeting Law.
PRESENT: Jerald Hulbert, Adele Kehoe, Richard Manchester, Howard Schneider, Ron Stephens, Ald. Mark Suhr, Toby Whipple, Gordon L.Jacobson (Recreation Director) and
Peter Theis (Parks Director).
GUESTS: Matt Sadowski (Plan Director)
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
A motion was made by Howard Schneider to approve the minutes of the Monday, September 11, meeting, as mailed. Toby Whipple
seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Toby Whipple to approve the minutes of the
Thursday, September 14, meeting, as mailed. Howard Schneider
seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
PERSONAL APPEARANCES:
There was none.
WRITTEN CORRESPONDENCE:
A letter was reviewed regarding the care and upkeep of Luther
Parker Cemetery. Pete informed the Board members that he had
not received a response to his letter to the Muskego Jaycees on
this request. The Board took no action.
OLD BUSINESS:
Denoon Park shelter building
Toby Whipple updated the Board on the plans and costs for the
shelter building at Denoon Park. A shelter 5O'x30' without concrete slab, $11,000; $2.00 per square foot for concrete slab. The Board members took no action, more information was
needed. The item will be on the November agenda.

Lannon Drive bike path
Pete updated the Board members on the status of the Lannon Drive bike path. Bids will probably be let in 1996. More information on this item was presented under review of the
Parks Dedication account.
Parkland acquisition
Chairman Hulbert informed the Board that at this time no action
had been taken to acquire the Theisenhussen property for
parkland. Discussions are continuing on acquisition of this property. The Board members were able to view a cadastral map
of the area.
Chairman Hulbert reported that Mayor De Angelis has been in
contact with the Tudor Oaks personnel regarding leasing land for a park facilities but nothing definite at this time. No
action taken.
DEPARTMENT REPORTS:
RECREATION
Proqram status
Gordy reported there is still room in the second party, 2:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m. for the Halloween Spooktacular which is
scheduled to be held Saturday, October 21, at the Muskego High
School.
Facility situation for Summer 1996
Some programs may be curtailed because of asbestos abatement
projects at the schools next summer and in 1997. Staff is
seeking alternative facility sites.
Park and Recreation Board workshop
Anyone on the Board interested in attending the Parks and
Recreation Board workshop should contact Gordy.
PARES
Parks Dedication account
The Board members reviewed the items on the Parks Dedication account as presented by Pete.
Ron Stephens moved, Toby Whipple seconded, for Pete to contact personnel at W.E.P.Co. (W isconsin Electric Power Company) for contract for Highway 36 Phase I of the Muskego Recreation
Trail. Motion passed.

NEW BUSINESS, OTHER BUSINESS:
Champions Villaqe subdivision plan
In the matter of the Champions Village subdivision plan, no
action was taken by the Board members.
Parkland Plaza parkland--site development proposal
In the matter of the Parkland Plaza parkland site development
proposal, no action was taken by the Board members.
COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW:
Freedom Acres
For informational purposes, Matt Sadowski presented designs for
storm sewer outfall into the east pond of the Freedom Square
Ponds, depicting a small series of wetland vegetation to filter
out pollution from storm water run-off. In the accompanying
memorandum from the Watershed Adminstrator, Mark Paulat
indicated the design as presented will not harm or infringe on
the courts as they exist.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business, Howard Schneider moved to
adjourn, Adele Kehoe seconded. The motion carried. The
meeting adjourned at 9:35 p.m.
