PARKS & RECREATION BOARD, CITY OF MUSKEGO
MONDAY, OCTOBER 10, 1994
The monthly meeting of the Parks and Recreation Board, City of
Muskego, was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by President Jerald Hulbert.
PRESENT: Jerald Hulbert, Ron Stephens, Howard Schneider, Toby Whipple, Richard Manchester, Ald. Donna Woodard, Gordon L. Jacobson (Recreation Director) and Peter Theis (Parks Director)
ABSENT: Adele Kehoe (excused)
GUESTS: (see attached list)
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Ron Stephens moved to approve, as mailed, the minutes of the
September 12th Board meeting. Aid. Donna Woodard seconded.
Motion carried.
PERSONAL APPEARANCES:
Horses on Muskeqo Recreation Trail
Mr. Al Spitzner presented to the Board petitions for equestrian use of the Muskego Recreation Trail. They inquired would the Parks and Recreation Department be interested in sharing bike
trails with horseback riders? A representative from W.E.P.Co.
(Wisconsin Electric Power Company) will be at the next Board
meeting. The insurance issue was discussed along with other
concerns. No action was taken by the Board.

OLD BUSINESS: There was none.
DEPARTMENT REPORTS:
RECREATION
Proqram status
Basketball and volleyball league meetings have been held and
schedules are due out soon.

Recreation Supervisor position
Gordy stated that there were six applicants for the position and he will interview three.
Cooperative purchasinq with the school district
The Muskego/Norway School District is suggesting a cooperative
purchase for an equipment cage for the south gymnasium. Gordy will bring back more information.
SEPRC meetinq
Board members were invited to the October 26 SEPRC meeting which
will be hosted by the Muskego Parks Department.
Computer recreation registration software
Tentative approval has been given for the computer recreation registration software.
PARKS
1995 budget(s) status report
The portion of the capital budget approved was approximately
63% of what was requested.
Idle Isle boat launch
The low bid for the project was accepted. The paperwork needs
to be completed. Completion dates should be on schedule.
Kurth Park development plan
The public hearing on the Kurth Park development plan is
scheduled for October 24, 1994.
Hwy "L" off-road path (Phase I)
The low bid of $8,365 was received from Poblocki Asphalt.
Alderwoman Woodard moved, Toby Whipple seconded, to accept the
low bid. The motion carried.
Muskeqo Recreation Trail review
Ron Stephens moved, Alderwoman Woodard seconded, to continue the bike trail from Muskego County Park to City limits west. The
motion carried.
Status of fence between Beleview Drive and Bay Lane
Public Works was forwarded the request to open a portion of the fence allowing for pedestrians to walk through.

NEW BUSINESS, OTHER BUSINESS:
Subdivision plans from Plan Commission
There were no plans presented for the Board to review.
Eiche property
Chairman Hulbert reviewed the Eiche property with the Board.
COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW:
There was none.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business, Howard Schneider moved to
adjourn, Ron Stephens seconded. The motion carried. The
meeting adjourned at 8:42 p.m.
