PARKS & RECREATION BOARD, CITY OF MUSKEGO
MONDAY, APRIL 11, 1994
The monthly meeting of the Parks and Recreation Board, City of
Muskego, was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by President Jerald
Hulbert.
PRESENT: Jim Dumke, Ald. Donna Woodard, Jerald Hulbert, Ron
Stephens, Richard Manchester, Howard Schneider, Gordon L. Jacobson (Recreation Director) and Peter Theis
(Parks Director)
ABSENT: Adele Kehoe (excused)

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Richard Manchester moved to approve, as mailed, the minutes of
the March 14th Board meeting. Ald. Donna Woodard seconded.
Motion carried.
PERSONAL APPEARANCES:
Jaycees Softball Tournament
Mike Congemi was present to request permission for the Jaycees
to serve and to sell beer and wine coolers at the softball tournament scheduled for Bluhm Farm Park on June 18 and 19.
Richard Manchester moved, Jim Dumke seconded, to approve the
request to serve beer and wine coolers (sell) as part of their
fund-raising. No glass containers to be used. Pete to
follow-up on liability. Motion carried, 4 yes 1 no.
Land 0' Lakes Baseball
Jim Haag appeared before the Board to discuss the field time
usage and fees for Land 0' Lakes Baseball. (A) If field is
playable, Pete will okay request for usage as soon as possible. (B) Maintenance fees are only by request, usage fee is based on
policy. Mr. Haag was not sure how this worked and received
further clarification.
WRITTEN CORRESPONDENCE:
The Board was in receipt of a letter from the Little Muskego Lake District regarding meeting of April 18th.

OLD BUSINESS:
Pool waiver request update
The family requesting the pool waiver have been notified of the Board's decision. The family will be issued a laminated pool pass. Gordy checked with the Mayor regarding liability.
Freedom Acres propertv transfer
Pete will present quotes to restore tennis courts at May
meeting.
DEPARTMENT REPORTS:
RECREATION
Program status
There was no report.
Proqram scheduling/School District
Muskego High School may not have second-shift person available,
thus summer program instructors by recreation department w be
required to sign out keys. Gordon will send information letter
to School Board regarding our position as to a different budget
process and summer program situation.
PARKS
Baseball maintenance fees
The Board members reviewed the revised baseball maintenance
charges for 1994. Ald. Donna Woodard moved, Richard Manchester
seconded, to approve the revised maintenance fees as presented,
which excludes an additional 20 hours for baseball workers
approved in the 1994 budget. Motion carried, 5 yes 0 no.
1994 Water Buq aqreements
The Board members reviewed the 1994 Water Bug Ski Team, Inc.
agreements for use of Idle Isle Park. Richard Manchester moved,
Howard Schneider seconded, to recommend approval to the Finance
Committee of these agreements. Motion carried, 5 yes 0 no.
Kurth Park development plan
Pete presented to the Board members a plan for the development
of Kurth Park. Funds amounting to $53,000 are available to
start the renovation of Kurth Park. Board members reviewed and gave comments regarding Pete's first plan. Pete will start
checking regarding costs to plan. Ald. Donna Woodard moved, Jim Dumke seconded, to accept this concept and Peter to fine tune
for further discussion. Motion carried, 5 yes 0 no.

NEW BUSINESS, OTHER BUSINESS:
Subdivision plans from Plan Commission
In the matter of Lakewood Meadows Addition #l, it does not
affect anything in master plan. No action taken.
COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW:
There was none.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business, Richard Manchester moved to
adjourn, Ald. Donna Woodard seconded. The motion carried. The
meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
