PRB060892minutesMINUTES PARKS & RECREATION BOARD, CITY OF MUSKEGO MONDAY, JUNE 8, 1992 The monthly meeting of the Parks and Recreation Board, City of Muskego, was called to order at 6:05 p.m. by President Jerry Hulbert. PRESENT: Jerald Hulbert, Richard Manchester, Adele Kehoe, Fran Burgeson, Thomas Millonzi, Alderman Brian Misko, Gordon L. Jacobson (Recreation Director) and Peter Theis (Parks Director) ABSENT: Ron Stephens (excused) GUESTS: Dale Schrank, Dave Taube, Jay Richards, Ted Richards APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Fran Burgeson moved to approve the minutes of the May 11th Board meeting. Adele Kehoe seconded the motion. Motion carried. The minutes were approved as mailed. PERSONAL APPEARANCES: Kurth Park expansion design Alderman Dave Taube submitted two plans for the Kurth Park expansion design. Peter Theis informed Alderman Taube that the size of the soccer field is 75 yards by 120 yards, not 15 feet by 120 feet. Alderman Taube will submit new plans for the July meeting. Luther Parker Cemetery (Eagle Scout project) Eagle Scout Jay Richards reported on the clean up and restoration on Luther Parker Cemetery and informed the Board that he had received a donation of $300 from the Jaycees. Thomas Millonzi moved, Richard Manchester seconded, to pursue with the undertaking of the clean up and restoration of Luther Parker Cemetery. Motion approved unanimously. South West Aquatic Team Dale Schrank had spoken about the history of the (S.W.A.T.) and informed the Board that (S.W.A.T.) is at Priority II right now, $7.00 per hour, and that (S.W.A.T.) cannot afford to be changed to a Priority III at $25.00 per hour, or Priority V at $35.00 per hour. OLD BUSINESS: Muskego High School swimming pool policy Adele Kehoe moved, Richard Manchester seconded, the approval of the updated Muskego High School swimming pool policy. Motion carried with Tom Millonzi abstaining. He has child in the (s.w.A.T.) program. Future parkland acquisitions Tom Millonzi moved, Adele Kehoe seconded, to add Tax Key #2274.999 (partial) to the parks master plan. (Open space area surrounding the Kaminski woods site.) DEPARTMENT REPORTS: PARKS Shop restoration status Pete reported to the Board members on the shop status. a Alderman Misko moved, Richard Manchester seconded, to recommend to do the exterior first on the building. Motion approved unanimously. Lions Park snowmobile accident of l/25/92 Pete reported to the Board members that legal action has been taken against the City of Muskego. Water Bug Ski Team (June review) Citizen complaint was received regarding the ski jump on Little Muskego Lake being used at night without being lighted. Board reviewed and said the ski jump must be lit at night in accordance with the agreement the organization made with the Common Council. RECREATION Program status Gordon reported to the Board members that work has started for the Fall/Winter/Spring brochure and will have dance recital at Muskego High School. Summer programs are starting up at this time. There will be more discussion on it June 24, 1992. NEW BUSINESS, OBTER BUSINESS: Subdivision plans Pete reviewed subdivision plans on Plum Creek with Board members. Board elections Richard Manchester moved, Adele Kehoe seconded, to defer to the next meeting with all Board members being present. Motion carried. COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW: Pete reviewed and updated the Board on the bike path status along Bridgeport Way. Pete revie;ed and updated the Board regarding the parking and usage regulations imposed in the parks shop area. ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, Richard Manchester moved to adjourn. Adele Kehoe seconded. Motion carried.
