PARKS & RECREATION BOARD, CITY OF MUSKEGO
MONDAY, JULY 13, 1992
The monthly meeting of the Parks and Recreation Board, City of Muskego, was called to order at 6:03 p.m. by President Jerry Hulbert.
PRESENT: Jerald Hulbert, Richard Manchester, Fran Burgeson, Thomas Millonzi, Alderman Brian Misko, Gordon L. Jacobson (Recreation Director) and Peter Theis (Parks Director)
ABSENT: Adele Kehoe, Ron Stephens (excused)
GUESTS: Ron Peters, Mayor Salentine, Alderman Taube
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Alderman Brian Misko moved to approve the minutes of the June 8th Board meeting. Richard Manchester seconded the motion. Motion carried. The minutes were approved as mailed.
PERSONAL APPEARANCES:
Chipper on Muskego Historical Society site
Ron Peters of the Muskego Historical Society was present to inform the Board members the society was protesting the chipper operation taking place on lease agreement grounds. They want to know if this is a permanent situation. President Jerry
Hulbert suggested communication with Alderman Patterson both from the Board and the historical society.
WRITTEN CORRESPONDENCE:
Idle Isle boat launching collection system
The Board was in receipt of a letter from the Police Department indicating the problems they are experiencing with the launch collection system at Idle Isle. The Board discussed the collection system. Alderman Misko made the suggestion for a sticker for the windshield. Also, gates, meters, timeclock, and dispenser were discussed. Pete will research some options.
OLD BUSINESS:
Kurth Park--expansion plan
Alderman Taube passed out maps and discussed soccer field layouts with the Board members. Fran Burgeson moved, Richard Manchester seconded, for preliminary plan approval as Alderman

Taube has drawn up. Pete wil check numbers on costs. Motion carried. Board discussed water drainage through Kurth Park, aboveground drainage, underground costs, etc. Alderman Misko made motion to leave ditch open for one year, that the developer close drainage ditch off in one year and the Parks and Recreation Board has the option to participate in upgrading size of drainage pipe in said time and change slope of ditch from 3 to 1, to 4 to 1 or 5 to 1. Fran Burgeson seconded. Motion carried.
Parkland South Pond
Pete reported to the Board about ice skating on proposed pond if it is dug deeper. Richard Manchester moved to leave pond as originally designed. Fran Burgeson seconded. Motion carried.
Reorganize bike path sub-committee
Pete reported to Board as to progress of bike path to date. Sub-committee members include Jerry Hulbert, Ron Stephens and Rich Manchester. The committee will meet at a later date.
DEPARTMENT REPORTS:
PARES
l Parks & Open Space Comprehensive Plan
Pete reported to the Board members that the plan had been distributed. Comments are welcomed. Amendments can be proposed at any time.
Maintenance garage exterior restoration specifications
Pete reported to the Board members on the specifications for the maintenance garage exterior restoration. Each Board member was provided with a copy of the exterior restoration specifications for contractor bids. Fran Burgeson made a motion for process of bidding on specifications Pete put together. Richard Manchester seconded. Motion carried.
Lakefest post report
Pete informed the Board that no negative feedback had been received. Some framing on roof needs to be addressed for next year.
Baseball tournament post report
Pete stated that the Mavericks tournament went well as did the Muskego Flames tournament.

RECREATION
Program status
Gordy reported that the Muskego High School pool opened today. Everything works excellent--water, filtration, temperature.
Fall brochure will be coming out soon.
NEW BUSINESS, OTHER BUSINESS:
Subdivision plans
Pete allowed Board members to view sub plats of Wilkinson Estates and Lake Forest revised. Jerry Hulbert reported on the
Muskego Lakes Country Club, Bay Breeze, and Eiche sketch.
Board elections
Tom Millonzi moved, Alderman Brian Misko seconded, to defer to the next meeting with all Board members being present. Motion
carried.
COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW:
Schubring Drive was discussed by Alderman Misko as to location of signing; would like sign moved or path cleared. Pete will address this issue.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business, Alderman Misko moved to adjourn. Richard Manchester seconded. Motion carried. The
meeting adjourned at 11:ll p.m.
