PARKS & RECREATION BOARD, CITY OF MUSKEGO
MONDAY, AUGUST 10, 1992
The monthly meeting of the Parks and Recreation Board, City of Muskego, was called to order at 6:08 p.m. by Vice President Ron Stephens.
PRESENT: Richard Manchester, Fran Burgeson, Alderman Brian Misko, Adele Kehoe, Ron Stephens, Gordon L. Jacobson (Recreation Director) and Peter Theis (Parks Director)
ABSENT: Tom Millonzi, Jerry Hulbert (excused)
GUESTS : Clementine Knutowski, Dale Schrank (S.W.A.T.), Ken Pakulski, Gail Maurer (Muskego Chorale), Mary Pietruszynski (Muskego Chorale), Ron Peters, Mayor Salentine
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Richard Manchester moved to approve the minutes of the July 13th Board meeting. Alderman Brian Misko seconded the motion. Motion carried. The minutes were approved as mailed.
PERSONAL APPEARANCES:
South West Aquatic Team
Mr. Schrank addressed the Board to express concern over his program and how the new fee structure would affect it. Richard
Manchester motioned that the Board follow the recommendation of the June 8, 1992 meeting regarding fee structure for the pool. Alderman Misko seconded. Mr. Schrank expressed his dismay at the action of the Board
Muskego Historical Society proposal to build old country store and church
Ms. Knutowski shared proposed plans for expansion of Old Muskego Settlement Centre. Richard Manchester recommended to approve the concept of the general store and church. Alderman Brian Misko seconded. Motion carried.
Muskego Chorale
Jane Mundro, Mary Pietruszynski, Gail Mauer from the Muskego Chorale addressed the Board to share an overview of the program..

WRITTEN CORRESPONDENCE:
0 S.H.A.R.E. program request
Motion made by Richard Manchester to grant use of Jensen Center on a month to month basis contingent on program usage. All clean up is the responsibility of S.H.A.R.E. Alderman Misko seconded. Motion carried.
Community Fest request
Motion by Richard Manchester to grant permit for request except for snow fence unless fence can be secured without staking into the asphalt. Adele Kehoe seconded. Motion passed.
OLD BUSINESS:
Kurth Park--expansion plan
Pete shared with the Board the latest details in the expansion proposal.
DEPARTMENT REPORTS:
PARKS
l Maintenance garage exterior restoration status
Bids will be opened on August 20. by October 31st). Work will be done (hopefully
Idle Isle launch fee collection system
Pete shared the up-dated form with the Board.
Update on 8/15/90 incident at Mill Valley
The August 15, 1990 incident is still in litigation.
Bike path sub-committee meeting
A bike path sub-committee meeting to follow building restoration meeting on August 24.
Atletic field lighting system
$40,000 for 4-pole softball field: Pete will bring details to the budget meeting.

RECREATION
Program status
New recreation book should be out in a week to ten days. Playgrounds have wound down. was with the instructors. Ciordy mentioned how pleased he
NEW BUSINESS, OTHER BUSINESS:
Subdivision plans
Mayor Salentine addressed the Board in regard to Country Club Village since the plan has changed.
Board elections
Rich Manchester moved, Alderman Brian Misko seconded, to defer to the next meeting with all Board members being present. Motion carried.
Budget presentation meeting
The budget presentation meeting will be the regular September 14 meeting.
Lake access parcels
Alderman Misko brought to the attention of the Board that boats are being illegally launched from lake access sites. Cars are being parked in front of people's mailboxes, etc. Adele Kehoe made motion to defer the problem to Rules, Laws, & Ordinances and Safety Committee. Fran Burgeson seconded. Motion carried.
COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW:
None at this meeting.
