PARKS & RECREATION BOARD MEETING, CITY OF MUSKEGO
MONDAY, DECEMBER 10, 1990
The monthly meeting of the Parks and Recreation Board was called
to order at 6;06 p.m. by President Jerald Hulbert.
PRESENT. Alderman Dan Hilt, Jerald Hulbert, Adele Kehoe,
Richard Manchester, Therese Rilling, Gordon Jacobson
(Recreation Director) and Peter Theis (Parks Director)
ABSENT: Thomas Millonzi (excused), Ron Stephens (excused)
GUESTS: Fran Burgeson
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Richard Manchester moved to approve, as mailed, the minutes of
the November 12, 1990 meeting. Alderman Hilt seconded. Motion
carried.
PERSONAL APPEARANCES:
There were no personal appearances.
WRITTEN CORRESPONDENCE:
There was no written correspondence.
OLD BUSINESS
Entry level wage adjustment for lifeguard personnel
Gordy requested that the Board approve raising the entry level
wage of lifeguard personnel from $4.40/hour to $S.OO/hour.
Richard Manchester so moved. Therese Rilling seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Muskego Yacht Club agreement
Richard Manchester moved that the agreement with the Muskego Yacht Club be contingent upon their having liability insurance.
Therese Rilling seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Status of comprehensive plan
SEWRPC (Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission)
is waiting for us to review the plan to get our reaction to the
recommended portion.

DEPARTMENT REPORTS
Parks
1991 budget status
Pete reviewed the capital budget and park dedication accounts.
Idle Isle concession stand lease
Lease agreement formally is over on December 31, 1990. A
motion was made to extend the balance of the electrical bill
until December 31, 1990, by Richard Manchester. Therese Rilling
seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Restoration plans for old Public Works garage
Pete reported that he has made contact with several contractors
to restore the exterior of the building. Will continue to work
on specifications for the work required on the building exterior
for the Board to review prior to bidding process.
Recreation
New programs
Sue Baumdicher will be the new arts/crafts instructor. Hopes
to begin oil/acrylic painting and jewelry-making classes.
Gordy shared a summer youth basketball program proposal with the Board.
Bids for Summer, and Fall/Winter/Spring brochures
Gordy shared with the Board the status of bids for upcoming
brochures.
NEW BUSINESS, OTHER BUSINESS
Jurisdiction of Holz Island
The Board directed Pete to research the jurisdiction of Holz Island. He will report at the January meeting.
Plan Commission subdivision plats
The Board reviewed the Suburban Heights and Lake Point Estates
preliminary plats.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, Therese Rilling moved to adjourn,
seconded by Richard Manchester. Motion carried. Meeting
adjourned at 8 20 p.m.
