PRB090883minutesMINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING PARKS & RECREATION BOARD Thursday, September 8, 1983 The special meeting of the Parks and Recreation Board was called to order at 8 02 PM by Richard Arrowood. PRESENT. Richard Arrowood, Joe Weitzer, Carl Wauer, Ralph Tomczyk, Vickie Hauser and Jackie St. Mary, Rec. Supervisor. ABSENT Richard Manchester, Karen Wesell, Peter Theis (Parks Supervisor). SPECIAL GUESTS: Edward J. Purcell and Peter Riese of Howard, Needles, Tammen & Bergendoff firm. The purpose of this special meeting was to interview a planning/consulting firm to do the engineering work for the Lake Meadows Area Park project. The firm under con- sideration was Howard, Needles, Tammen & Bergendoff. INTERVIEW: The priorities of this Agency is to First, take a closer look at this parcel of land, look at the strengths and weaknesses of the soil. Second, find out which facilities are high priority, which would come first if there was not enough money to finish it completely. Take into account what is wanted and needed as far as construction the plans. , ;layout, grading, etc. and fine tuning of This information gathered would be made available to the public at a meeting or hearing and input would be encouraged to make sure the job is accomplished and that the job done is what is wanted. The firm would also be taking on the responsibility of getting bids and making recommendations of the contractors to the Board. The time frame anticipated by Howard, Needles, Tammen and Bergendoff for the project proposal would be the 1st of the year (1984). Then bidding could be commenced during the winter and the actual work began in the spring. Minutes, Parks & Rec. Board, Special Meeting, Thurs., g/8/83 NEW BUSINESS, OTHER BUSINESS, MISCELLANEOUS After some discussion, it was agreed by the Board to meet the fourth Monday of this month due to some personal con- flicts in dates. Peter asked Jackie to inform the Board that he was approving the use of 15 picnic tables from Idle Isle for the Icetronauts use this weekend. They have pre- sented an insurance certificate to cover any damages. ADJOURNMENT Carl Wauer moved to adjourn the meeting. Motion to ad- journ was seconded by Ralph Tomczyk. Motion carried.
