PARKS & RECREATION BOARD BASEBALL COMMITTEE MEETING
Wednesday, March 3, 1982
The meeting of the Parks and Recreation Board's subcommittee on baseball
was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Carl Wauer.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Carl Wauer, Karen Wesell, Peter Theis
MEMBERS ABSENT: Richard Manchester
GUESTS: Norb Janiszewski, Dean Johnson, Harry Udvare
The two main areas of discussion for this meeting involved base distribution
and facility or equipment access. Pete Theis, the parks supervisor,
proposed the following procedures regarding these two main areas:
BASES
The following leagues will use a check-in/check-out system: Men, Women,
Couples, 35+, Church, and Lakes.
Bases are to be picked up at 8:00 a.m. the day of a scheduled game (or on
Friday of a weekend game) at the Parks Garage and returned at 7:45 a.m.
the following work day.
The MAA will be issued bases for all of their needs. The MAA will also
provide the Icetronauts bases for their scheduled games. (The City will
have enough bases to cover all of these needs.)
FACILITY AND EQUIPMENT ACCESS
The hiring of an individual whose wages are to be prepaid by the Parks
and Recreation Department by the leagues using the service.
It is estimated this individual would be working 9 hours per week. The
duties will include opening, closing and cleaning restrooms, distributing
umpire equipment and turning on and off lights.
At $3.50 per hour for 15 weeks, the amount of money needed will be approxi-
mately $475.00 ($472.50.) Leagues using the service include the MAA,
Men, Women, Lakes, and Cub Scouts. Out of the 9 hours, the MAA will be
charged for 7 hours or 75% of $475.00. The other leagues will be charged
for 25% or 2 hours of $475.00.

After much discussion, the committee members and persons representing
the MAA (Muskego Athletic Association) decided to go along with Pete's
proposed "Ranger" plan. Pete is to check with the other leagues; i.e.
Lakes, Men, Women, etcetera.
In addition, the MAA has requested one (1) key for Mill Valley and one
(1) key for Horn for using their pitching machine. The keys would be
issued to Mr. Gooding for the baseball season.
The MAA representatives also requested exclusive use of the box at the
Mill Valley complex.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
