UNIFORMS . . . A total of $1,625.00 is budgeted for equipment for the
Land O'Lakes, Junior Varsity, and Varsity programs. $600.00 to
$700.00 of this money is for baseballs, $300.00 for bats, leaving
about $625.00 for uniforms or other equipment. At present, the shirts
of the Varsity team are in poor condition.
The issue of taking Varsity and Junior Varsity games off of Horn
Field usage was discussed. There is a $240.00 entry fee if the
varsity is to play at one of the county parks, (either Rainbow or
Greenfield), as a home field. The Junior Varsity will stay at Horn.
The league will be told that they should not schedule make-up games
in the evenings on Mondays or Thursdays.
Land O'Lakes . . . Jon Beatka is willing to attend business meetings,
but does not want to manage the team. However, there are two persons
who may want to manage the team. For the present, there is no manager.
Any person who expresses interest in the position should be told that
there will be no compensation.
Coaches . . . Gary Kalkopf has agreed to coach the Varsity and Jeff
Martyka the Junior Varsity team. They are aware of the salaries of
$525.00 for the season and the subcommittee wishes to go on record
as recommending hiring Gary and Jeff.
The subject of uniforms was again discussed. A deal can be obtained
on a whole uniform from Mid City Sporting Goods. A 25% discount on
a $33.00 price which would mean a cost of $24.00 for a uniform plus
lettering. The possibility of each player buying his own hat was
discussed. A total price of $450-$500 for 16 full uniforms was
estimated. These uniforms are double knit polyester and will last
longer than last years. A total price quote for lettering and
uniforms will be obtained.
Baseball field scheduling was discussed.
The meeting adjourned at 9:00 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
Tom Raimann, Secretary
