PERSONAL APPEARANCES
Mr. Ron Ford, President of Womens Softball League, appeared ---7-- regarding the decision to move the Women's League play to the
High School from Mill Valley on one of their regularly scheduled
nights. (See copy of letter attached.) He stated that the women's was one of the only leagues that has not expanded and was still
being penalized since the senior boys were going to use their
field. Mr. Manchester moved to give the women's program the
Mill Valley #2 diamond on Thursday night. This would move the
senior boys from this night at Mill Valley to their preference
of Wednesday or Friday at Horn. Carl Wauer seconded the motion
and it was carried.
Mr. Johnson appeared for the MAA with some of the following
px%blems. Inability to open up the building at Mill Valley to
get equipment out, fields not in order, and he stated that the
MAA was in confusion every night due to these problems. It
was stated that the bases should stay at Mill Valley and that
the Park Ranger will open up and pass out equipment and then lock the equipment up. He will also turn lights on and off.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Decisions regarding the Little Muskego Lakes Association use of
Idle Isle for their Fun Fest were made. It was stated that a lifeguard would be on duty during normal swimming hours, and
that the boat launch be open with an employee collecting fees
which will be turned over to the Parks & Recreation Department.
Mr. Manchester moved to keep the boat launch open all day during the festival and Tom Raimann seconded. Motion carried.
Capital budget realignment - A price quote was obtained for the
Horn Park building expansion. However, it was decided that only
the roof at a cost of $500.00 would be done. Discussion on
Kurth Park followed and it was decided that the money from Horn

NEW BUSINESS
Muskego Life Sports coverage on our insurance was discussed.
Since they are not sponsored by the Department, it was felt
that they would not be covered by our liability insurance.
However, the Director will contact the city attorney concerning
clarification of the matter.
DIRECTOR'S REPORT
The Director reported that a mower deck was found in back of
the city garage and that the Department wished to sell same as
scrap, since it is not operational or marketable.
Fred reported that much work was needed on the city's ball
diamonds. He also stated that the Parks Department was having
the following equipment problems The Toro mower blew a rod
and the engine is now obsolete. The Simplicity is not working
since both the front and rear clutches are inoperable at this time.
Also we had to replace the Park's 1000 gallon gas tank due to
holes in the bottom of said tank. It was replaced since contami-
nation of the water table was possible.
RECREATION
Registration for swimming and tennis lessons are being conducted There is a waiting list for swimming and also for the Adult/Tot
swimming classes being offered.
Next meeting date will be July 9th.
Paul Ussel made a motion to adjourn at 10 30 P.M. and Mr. Man-
chester seconded. The meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
Tom Raimann, Secretary

Mr. Fred Baewer
Parks & Recreation Director
City of Muskego
Dear Fred.
Pursuant to your letter of May 24th, 1979, I and~the:meinbers of the Muskego Womens Softball League Board of ,Governors request to be put
on the agendaifor the next Parks & Recreation Board meeting to discuss this matter. , , I,
I can tell you that:.we, very much resent the Board's decision to move
half of our program to ,the,High School, especially since we are three weeks into the, season.
During the last three years, in the face of increasing demand, we have
held off leauge expansion in order not to further aggravate the diamond shortage situtatio?. In the meantime the MAA, the Mens
Tavern League, and others have all expanded their programs. We use
only two diamonds one night a week.
As a reward for our efforts we are told to move to accommodate
those who have expanded their programs.
We will have to go to the expense and trouble of printing and distributing 240 new schedules. We will also have to find an
additional person to oversee the program at the High School.
We believe the Board's decision to be grossly unfair and will
make every effort to reverse it.
- Sincerely! yours,
