The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M.
PRESENT' Mike Weed, Karen Wesell, Richard Manchester, Tom
Raimann, Carl Wauer, Fred Baewer, and Jackie St.Mary.
The minutes were approved as mailed.
PERSONAL APPEARANCE
Dave Schreiber was present at the meeting to discuss the Bluhm
Farm Phase I and II for the year 1980. The cost of same will
be approximately $140,000.00. Phase I groundwork was discussed,
including three ball diamonds which will be involved in the
project. Phase II will involve setting up ball diamonds, fencing,
etc. Concern was expressed over the soils in the center of the
south 40, since it is very poor and holds a lot of water. Con-
cern was also expressed over Diamond #3 on the north side of
McShane because of possible need for expansion of the sewage
plant The entrance to the parking lot was also discussed.
Tom Raimann moved to recommend to the Common Council that money
for Phase II be approved. Mike Weed seconded the motion and
it carried.
Dr. Mangiamele was present to discuss Denoon Park, and recom-
mended following the knolls with an exit to Crowbar Road, and
a Parkway extending from Parker Drive across Kelsey to Crowbar.
Tom Raimann moved to recommend to the Plan Commission to place
a parkway extending from Parker Drive, across Kelsey, to Crow-
bar Road, following the knolls on the city master plan. Karen
Wesell seconded the motion and it was carried.
OLD BUSINESS
Two job descriptions, one for Receptionist Typist I and one
for Receptionist Typist II were submitted for consideration, by the Director. Fred requested 2 part-time people to keep
the present part-time secretary in her position. Tom Raimann
moved to approve the job descriptions for both positions and
2 half-time secretaries, and Mike Weed seconded the motion. Carried.
The hardship involved in the schedule for the Parks & Recrea-
tion Board meeting night was discussed. Mr. Wauer moved to
change the meeting night to the 3rd Monday on a temporary
basis. Tom Raimann seconded the motion which was carried.
Wages were discussed and the need to cut back in the Recreation
budget, overall operating, and capital budget were presented.

It was moved by Dick Manchester to send Matt Bennett to a
Small Engine Repair class through WCTI and held at the Muskego High School. The motion was seconded by Mike Weed and carried.
Mike Weed made a motion to accept the lowest bid on mirrors
(45” x 72” x + - 3 sections), for Jensen Center. The bids
would be on mirrors of comparable quality. Carl Wauer seconded
the motion and it carried.
Carl Wauer moved to purchase a record player not to exceed
$200.00 as budgeted with selection left to the Director's
discretion. The motion was seconded by Karen Wesell and carried.
The salaries of supervisors in the department, Parks, and
Recreation, were brought up and discussed. The issue was
referred to the Mayor for direction
Karen Wesell moved to hire the following people for Recreational
seasonal employment Colleen Jansen, Diane Zbilicki, Duane Mlachnik, Mark Flees, Gary Kastello, Jeff Kozlik, and Allyson
Burley. Motion was seconded by Carl Wauer and carried.
The purchase of nursery stock from the Lamb Nursery was dis-
cussed and the matter will be further looked into in the future
and discussed at the next Board meeting.
Carl Wauer moved to approve all bills as submitted. Mike Weed
seconded and the motion carried.
Carl Wauer then made a motion to adjourn and it was seconded
by Mike Weed and the meeting was adjourned at 12 25 A.M.
The next meeting will be January 21st, 1980 Please note that
this is a change and is the third Monday of the month.
