PRB091878minutesPARKS & RECREATION BOARD MEETINC - SEPTEMBER 18. 1978 The meeting was called to order at 7:05 P.M. for the discussion of the 1979 Proposed Operating and Capital Budgets. PRESENT: Richard Arrowood, Michael Weed, Karen Wesell, Tom Raimann and Ron Ford (arriving late). Also present were Director Steve Pischke and Recreation Supervisor Jackie St. Mary. ABSENT: Richard Manchester and Paul Ussel The following budget items were reviewed by the Board: The salaries for full-time employees are based on the 1978 salary schedule. The professional and consulting fees account has doubled for the 1979 Budget due to the cost of consultant fees. The CETA positions for the Recreation Supervisor and two Parks Maintenance Persons must be pLcked up by the Department if they are not funded again by CETA, so the positions have to be shown in the budget. There will be three new programs included in the 1979 Budget: 1) adult swimming lessons (to be offered on Wednesday evenings), 2) adult arts and crafts, 3) water ski clinic. The current salary schedule was used in preparing the 1979 Budget. Two new seasonal employee positions were reviewed by the Board: 1) Jr. Parks Ranger: this position would consist of doing the easier jobs for the Parks Maintenance Division. It would also give some kids, under the age of 16, an opportunity to work. 2) Park Mechanic M. Weed moved to accept the Proposed Operating and Capital Budget for 1979. Seconded by K. Wesell. Motion carried. The proposed salary changes for 1979 were reviewed and tabled until the next meeting. T. Raimann moved to approve the request received from the Muskego Chargers to practice at Mill Valley Ball Diamonds three (3) nights a week. Seconded by R. Arrowood. Motion carried. K.
