The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M.
PRESENT: Richard Arrowood, Tom Raimann, Karen Wesell and Paul
Ussel. Also present was Recreation Supervisor Jackie St. Mary.
ABSENT: Michael Weed, Richard Manchester and Ron Ford.
It was noted that the minutes of the meeting held on October 9th
should be changed to read that "R. Manchester moved to place an
updated ad in the paper and notify the Wisconsin Parks and
Recreation Association. The position opening cut-off date is
November 10th. Seconded by K. Wesell. Motion carried." The
minutes of the meeting held on October 9th were approved as
corrected.
PERSONAL APPEARANCES
Fred Washa, representing the Muckey 4-H Club, appeared with the
request that the $30.00 fee be waived for their use of Jensen
Recreation Building while making pizzas for the annual pizza
sale. P. Ussel moved to waive the $30.00 fee for their use of
Jensen Recreation Building. Seconded by K. Wesell. Motion
carried.
Dorothy Latick, representing a Finnish Dance Group, appeared with
the request that the Board waive the fee for their use of Jensen
Recreation Building. K. Wesell moved to deny the request for the
fee to be waived. Seconded by T. Raimann. Motion carried.
Walter Spann, representing the Muskego Chargers football team,
appeared requesting support from the Board to begin with next
year's program. Mr. Spann stated that the program is for the
5th and 6th grade boys, This year they had 60 boys in the pro-
gram and only enough equipment to suit up 56. In the past there
have only been 33 program participants. His principle concern
is the approved helmet required by the W.I.A.A. Rules, which run
about $40.00 each. His total request from the Board is $800.00.
T. Raimann moved to defer any action on consideration of the
request. Seconded by P. Ussel. Motion carried.
A letter from the Muskego Athletic Association, outlining the
costs for 1978, was read and placed on file.
Jackie St. Mary spoke on behalf of Tom Lentini for the Men's
Basketball Program. They would like to know why the Men's League
has to pay for its own program. R. Arrowood stated that because
of the great cost increase in the program for the two officials
that they wanted, it could not be covered by the City.

l Jackie St, Mary spoke on behalf of Diane Roed, of the Newcomer's
Club, stating the problems they have been having with trying to
get a gym to use. They are requesting that the $.25 fee be
waived for their club. P. Ussel moved to deny the request.
Seconded by K. Wesell. Motion carried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Color Coating at Jensen Park
The color coating project at Jensen Park has been postponed due
to the lateness of the season, and the weather being to cold to
apply it. Schrieber has stated that we should cancel that par-
ticular portion of the contract and possibly do it next year in
order to receive LAWCON funding.
Bluhm Farm Contract
The Common Council has anuroved the reouest for a contract with
Schreiber and Associates'to prepare a Master Plan for the Bluhm
Farm. The plan is to come out of the 1978 Budget.
Ordinance Regarding Motorized Vehicles on Ice Skating Areas
There has been a problem over the past years with snowmobiles

entering the designated areas for ice skating, endangering the
lives of those using the area. A letter has been received from
Attorney Buckley, and placed on file, wherein he has stated he
felt there was a broad enough ordinance on the books.
NEW BUSINESS
Muskego Moose Lodge
A request has been received from the Muskego Moose Lodge No. 1057,
for the use of Idle Isle for the purpose of their annual Ice
Fisheree to be held on January 14,,1979 from 6:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
The facility use fee would be $9.50. P. Ussel moved to approve
the use of Idle Isle by the Muskego Moose Lodge on the condition
that they would not interfere with the skating area or the skating
program. Seconded by T. Raimann. -Motion carried.
Brownie Troop
A Brownie Troop has requested the use of Jensen Recreation Build-
ing for the purpose of a slumber party: P. Ussel moved to deny
the request. Seconded by K. Wesell. Motion carried.
Evaluation Form for Personnel
It has been stated that an evaluation form is needed because of

DIRECTOR'S REPORT
Parks Division
A written report from Peter Theis was read at this time, updating
the Board on the projects they have completed and what they plan
to do during the next couple of weeks. The Board was informed
that much vandalism is going on in many of the parks with no money
left in the budget to do any maintenance work.
Recreation Division
Jackie St. Mary gave the Board an up-date on the recreation pro-
grams. She reported that the Turkey Shoot had a very good turn
out, with 84 teams participating compared to the 23 teams that
participated last year. There are 42 registrants on a waiting
list for the Swimming Lesson Program. They will be placed in a
class before registration is opened up for those who have not yet
registered. The Children's Dance Program now has a total of 62
participants, and the Adult Exercise Program a total of 26. The
Disco Dance Program is in its third week of lessons, and has a
total of 20 participants at $10.00 each. It was brought to the
Board's attention that Jensen Recreation Building is being used
to the maximum with the Nutrition Program accomodating up to 42
Senior Citizens on some days. There is a definite need for more
folding tables. The Board was also updated on the Snowmobile
Safety Class, Open Gym and the Senior Citizen Trip to Lincolnshire.
MISCELLANEOUS
It was reported that the Capital Budget has so far been cut down
from $208,034.50 to $119,256.00.
Pete Theis and Mike Nitka are now in charge of the Parks Division.
P. Ussel moved to adjourn. Seconded by K. Wesell. Motion carried.
