PRB061278minutesPARKS & RECREATION BOARD - CITY OF MUSKEGO a Minutes of meeting held June 12, 1978. PRESENT: Richard Arrowood, Michael Weed, Richard Manchester, Bruce Engman, Ron Ford, Tom Raimann, and Director Steve Pischke ABSENT: Paul Ussel The Board met at 6:45 P.M. to tour the six parks and the maintenance garage. The regular meeting was called to order at 9:20 P.M. The minutes of the May 8, 1978 meeting were approved as mailed. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Arrowood mentioned that the parks have come a long way and he has received some very good comments on the improvements. Engman stated that the work on Kurth Park, Diamond 2, was exceptional. The only bad areas in the parks were the bare spots of grass and the absence of flowers. It was thought that the Parks Division could use some extra personnel in the spring, possibly high school students. It was stated that our next need is to begin to acquire some land. ~ l NEW BUSINESS Schaumberg - Lease Richard Schaumberg again would like to lease our 15 acres of land behind his property for $180.00 per year. Manchester moved to recommend approval of the lease between Schaumberg and the City. Seconded by Engman PASSED Nettesheim Property The developers of this proposed subdivision would be donating 30 acres to the City. The 30 acres-would include lowland, highland and a heavy wooded area. The need for more flat area was stated in order to de- velop baseball diamonds, open space, tennis courts and a playground. Some of the lots on the developers plan seem to extend to far into the low, natural drainage area. The Board state'd that they would like to see tennis courts, a ball diamond, open space, and a play area with no need for a boat launch area. The Board also thought that flatter land would be more appropriate for these activities, and that the Depart- ment could possibly obtain some flatter land area from the farm to the west when that property is developed,or split up the areas, with the playground on the subdivision side of the creek and the organized play area on the other side. i PAGE TWO - Parks & Recreation Board Minutes - June 12, 1978 a Sample Land Dedication Ordinance Ford moved to defer this ordinance to the Land Procurement Committee.
