Minutes of meeting for December llth, 1978
PRESENT: Richard Arrowood, Karen Wesell, Richard Manchester,
and Michael Weed. Arriving late were Paul Ussel
and Tom Raimann.
ABSENT: Ron Ford
PERSONAL APPEARANCES
Mr. Joe Beatka representing Boldt's appeared with a check
donating $1000.00 to the Muskego Land 0 Lakes Baseball Program.
A motion was made to accept the donation by Mr. Manchester Andy
was seconded by Karen Wesell. .A
A motion was then made by Karen Wesell that the Park and Recreation
Board approve the design and size of a shoulder patch for the
uniforms, which was seconded by Mr. Richard Manchester. Motion Carried.
Mr. August Kowal and Dick Randall appeared requesting a shelter
addition at Jensen Center. They requested a temporary canopy
over the door to keep the heat in and the cold out. They also
stated that there was one storm window missing and that the back
door by the bathrooms is drafty. They also reported that extending
screws on kitchen sink counters were replaced, but that the counters
were rotting. In general, the two men were requesting the department
to take care of general maintenance. They also requested removal
of a post (or posts) to have access to drive up to the door in the
winter months. Mr. Kowal also asked if there was a building
available closer to town, or on a main road.
PARKS DIVISION UPDATE
Mr. Peter Theis gave the following report. The Park and Recreation
Department is paying for heating the entire garage and we only
use l/3 of the building. The heating bill is very costly. In
general, it was reported that park conditions are good. Snow-
mobile signs have been posted. The lighting at Idle Isle is ok.
Getting salt from the Public Works Department was mentioned as
was the need for money to repair park buildings, expecially
Jensen Center.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
A 1976 final pay request for $600.00 from Schreiber - A.T. Forseth
which was withheld for replacement of plants, Since no work
has been done, there will be no approval of payment.

The personnel evaluation form was discussed and a motion was
made by Mr. Manchester to approve the change regarding status,
on the form. It was seconded by Ms. Wessel. Motion carried.
NEW .BUSINESS
Snowmobile Committee - A Snowmobile Committee was re-established
and will meet Wednesday night at 7:30 in the Lion's Den. Snowmobile
Clubs will be involved.
Washington-Caldwell PTO
A request of a non-resident group, Washington-Caldwell PTO, to
use the high school pool for 1 l/2 hours on February 11, 1979
for a family swim from 4;30 to 6:00 p.m. was discussed. Mr. -
Manchester moved to deny the request and Mr. Weed seconded.
Motion carried.
Oxygen Inhalator
The purchase of a portable oxygen inhalator was discussed. The
school is planning to rent two units and will rent a third if
the Park and Recreation Department will pay l/2 of the fee which
is $90.00 a year. Mr. Manchester moved to approve the recommenda-
tion to rent the unit and Mr. Ussel seconded. The motion was
carried.
DIRECTOR'S REPORT
An Administration Up-date was given. Two CETA positions will
be ending. One in the Recreation Division will be ending
'November 16, 1979 and one in the Park Division will be ending
on April 3rd, 1980.
Recreation Division
There is no longer a secretary in the Park and Recreation
Department and with registration starting December 20th, and
phone calls now coming in, there will be no secretary to take
calls. The Santa Claus Calling Program is being done by ladies
at Tudor Oaks. A letter will be sent to volunteers that taught
snowmobile lessons previously. There is a problem with flooding
at the pool. The Men's Basketball League started last Wednesday.
Problems were discussed.
Miscellaneous
Interviews for the Director's position will be on December 16th.

An Operating and Capital Budget Update is due.
Next meeting is January 8th, 1979.
