SPECIAL MEETING
0 The meeting was called to order at 7~45 P.M.
This meeting was called to discuss the problems at Idle Isle on
August 18th through the 20th from the 1978 L.M.L.A. Summerfest.
Jackie St. Mary reported the following:
- beer truck in wrong area
- bicycles
- delivery trucks
- park not cleared by 11:OO P.M.
John Murrary, Parks Foreman, reported his concerns of the grass and
grounds. He stated that the ground was compacted with ruts.
Richard Arrowood reported his concern with the swimming area stating
that after it was taken out, it was never put back properly.
PUBLIC COMMENTS WERE AS FOLLOWS:
Wayne Radtke - 4,000 people had a good time, $8,000 net that goes
back into the lake, they cleaned up after
l Dave Taube, President of L.M.L.A. - stated that they had problems
with parking
Mike Fitzgerald - stated that when the swimming markers were pulled
out the anchors came off the end ones. Next time they could
possibly contact a bus company to take people to and from the
park. The parking facilities were very poor.
Ron Ford - stated that it was run very well and that there was good
crowd control. He also stated that the L.M.L.A. should decide if
this is to become an annual event so they could figure out a way
to handle the parking problem, If it is only a fund raiser, the
Board should cooperate.
Michael Weed - stated that the park looked good on Monday afternoon.
Gerald Lee - stated that the Summerfest had been more than a party,
and many people had been on Idle Isle for the first time.
Steve Pischke - stated a need for a few Board members to work with a
committee from the Little Muskego Lake Association.

Ford moved to have Arrowood assign an appropriate committee to
work as a liason with the L.M.L.A. Seconded by Weed. Ford again
brought up the fact that the L.M.L.A. should decide if the Summerfest
should be an annual event. The motion carried with Ford, Weed,
Raimann and Manchester voting "yes", and Ussel voting "no".
Wayne Radtke stated that if this would be made an annual event, it
would not be called "Summerfest". The L.M.L.A. may want to continue
the event after the lake has been dredged.
Ford moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ussel. Failed.
Discussion was brought up with regard to the ski show to be held on
September 3rd. There is to be no swimming on Labor Day weekend
because of the lack of personnel. Manchester moved to allow park-
ing only on the hard surfaced area. Seconded by Ussel. Motion
carried to have the water-ski show September 3rd.
Manchester moved to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Ussel. Motion
carried.
Meeting adjourned - lo:20 P.M.
