Minutes of meeting October 17, 1977
PRESENT: Mr. Richard Arrowood Mr. Tom Raimann

The minutes of the September 8, 1977 meeting were approved as mailed.
Discussion concerning the October 10th meeting followed.
PERSONAL APPEARANCES at that time were made by:
Charles Damaske and Wayne Sorenson appeared requesting general
approval of the site of the Historical Park in the Municipal Services
Complex. Discussion followed.
Dave Schreiber appeared presenting plans for the Municipal Services
Complex and placement of the pole barn in the Historical Park.
Because a quorum was not present, all formal business was tabled until
Monday, October 17th.

No personal appearances.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Capital Budget
Upon review of the Capital Budget, it was suggested that the siding
for the building at Idle Isle Park be added into this year's budget.
Both steel and cedar were recommended for the siding.
Priorities of the Capital Budget were also discussed. The question
was raised as to whether-or-not an option on the beach area at
Dandelion Park would be a possibility. Mr. Pischke was directed to
look into the situation.
Engman moved to accept the Capital Budget as presented. Seconded by
Weed PASSED
The Historical Park area was discussed. Ford moved to approve the
site of the park and the location of the barn. The type of barn was
a
not decided on. Seconded by Weed PASSED Mr. Ford expressed some
concern over the type of barn, etc., that was to appear in the site.
This was referred to the Plan Commission.

l , The Kingston Estate and the Department Building Policy were tabled
until the next meeting.
A combination VFW/American Legion War Memorial was discussed.
Possibilities of including it in the Municipal Services Park were
mentioned. Mr. Pischke was directed to contact the groups and have
them respond back with typical ideas, sketch, or the like.
NEW BUSINESS
Ford moved to approve the request of the Snowriders to have their
Halloween party at Jensen Center past 11:OO P.M. to 1:00 A.M.
Seconded.by Engman PASSED
DIRECTOR'S REPORT
Steve Pischke reported that the programs are now starting. The only
problem is with the bowling program because of the early starting
time.
The Parks Department is just about caught up with the grass mowing and
the playground projects in two parks are done. They will be start-

ing the fall planting within the next couple of weeks.
Internship - A prospective intern for the Winter-Spring semester was
interviewed, and the prospects of having the individual come to
Muskego are goad.
The LAWCON Projects have been started at Horn and Schmidt Parks. They
have been held up at Jensen Park because of the Electric Company.
Schmidt Park also has a problem with a soft spot on the court.
Senior Citizens - Deferred until the Committee that the Mayor is
forming can study the situation.
The Land O'Lakes team took second place in the Eastern Division. Their
banquet will be held at Westbrook in Menomonee Falls.
Pischke also reported on the neighborhood meeting concerning Schmidt
Park. The minutes of the meeting were received and put on file.
A letter of thanks was received from R.A. Burgermeister thanking the
Board,and also Director Steve Pischke and his crew,for the job well
done on the baseball diamonds this past summer.

The next meeting has been scheduled for November 7, 1977.
