Director Ron Ford opened discussion statingthat because of shortage of baseball
and softball facillities would the school district be interested in talking to us
about the City developing school lands in exchange for their use?
SCIIOOLS DISCUSSED:
Tess Corners Elementary--Possib:.lity of two diamonds at far end of property.
l~G.zskego Elementary--Room only for informal play area.
Bay Lane--Four dismonds--Kr. Kreuser doesn't see cnynore for Bay Lane, but could

ees Bay Lane important for girls softball as Key can play through 12th grade.

now because Intermediate School building took away land allocated for hardball
at its ori$nal site)--Diamonds should bo at far corners--I(r. Kreuser thinks school

Lakeview-4orway has softball area with hardball backstop, 65 ft. lines.

T.iill Valley--Viewed 1,ir. Beatka's detailed plcn showing three back to beck diamonds
for softball on the top part'adjacent to parking and Hardball dicmond on lower level
of this L shaped plat--&. Kreuser sees possibility of difficulty if diamomls l,..ould
interfer ~~ritii elementary children's space for field g%cmes-4ir. MC Cullough sees this
plat as ideal because the area is not :;rovint: therefore there are few homes around
with no expectation of more plus good parking area plus grade and natural gravel
underlay makes for excellent drainage end upkeep,
Mr. Kreuser suggested that we talk about these po ssibilities and draw up plans for
presentation to School Board and that we look into the ma!ring of a mutual forno1
agreement spelling out what District would do and what Park and Rec. would do. He also indicated that the District is happy to co operatc where feasible as evidenced
0 y the recent tennis court accomplishment and the co operation with bfuskegp Life Sports.
Y!. Arrowod would like to see ParI: and Rec. concentrate on one area so that something
gets gq,ing that can be ready for next season to take pressure Off Of existing facilities.
. -.. special meeting r/4/T& can't
Nr. Ford sees coin2 with other sites as long as this takes pressure off of existing facilities. He asked Mr. Schrieber to gather maps and other pertinent information
in preparation for surveying site- = as to their feasibilities in regard typography, orientation, time of play, facilities, league classes, t-ype of field etc. and submit
d
rejected costs.
