PRB061774minutesMEETIN HELD JUNE 17, 1974 ice President Robert Gumieny called the meeting to order at 7~50 P.M. 6 so present were members Richard Manchester and new members Arnit Beske and Joyce Krygier, l&creation Director Don Kangas and Park Supt. Don HcCullough. Absent wQre members Ron Ford9 Richard Arrowood, Roland Linck and Baseball Coordinator Joe Beatka. Member roll call was held. PERSONAL APPEARANCES Mrs. Clyde Eeckert of Tower Drive appeared and requested that the Park and Recreation Board do something about~ the foul balls that fall in her ysrd and could cause damage to their property. Mr. Roger Level atldl Mr. Ed King appeared an,d rQques&@d to know what develop- ment was scheduled for Schmidt Park this yQar. The Board explained that $26,000.00 was scheduled to be spent for the first phase. Flinutes of the last months meeting were discussed. Mr. Han&ester moved and Arnit Beske seconded that tha May minutes be approved. Motion carried. The election of officers was de&red until the next meating because of the poor attendance. % PQWS Recreation Director Don Kengas reported that the summer rQcPe%tion QPOgPQm will start next Monday June 24th. Tennis lessons started June. 17th for msinly Ttha, 6th and 7th grade students at Bay Lane. Don Kangas reported he had received a complaint from Bay Lone regarding automobile traffic on the grass during softball games. Kichard Manchester moved, Amit Beske seconded to write a letter to the person in charge of girls softbalI program complaining of this action. Motion carried. Don Kangas was directed to write the letter. iho n Kangas reported he had contacted Mr. Kobert Kreuser regarding joint venture of a baseball type complex on Mill Vaflley School grounds and activities on other school facilities. Mr. Kxeuser furnished a copy of a letter explaning schools duties and the Park and i3eereat:fon Bosrd's dueies, and that he would like to meat with the Park and Kecreation Board's planner before making any decision. /PLwE Lzd. ,K/ua fl /r/Del 8?2%57%&6 NEW BUSINESS chard Manchester brought up the problem about purchasing baseball equipment thout a purchase order. Don McCullough ssid he would handle the problem I and make the necessary purchase orders, ! _ -_ ...~Y -~- Don McCullough was directed to have the water in Lietle Nuskego tested by Waukesha County Health Dsparement to determine if it is safe for swimming at private beaches and piers. Dbn McCullough was directed to change the hours of operation for Idle Isle from 11:OO A.M. to 9:00 P&i, on weekdays and to 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P,M, be- cause of requests from local fishermen. Bob Gumieny presented vouchQrs to be paid. Richard Manchester moved,Arnft ! Beske seconded to approve payment. Motion carried.
