Mrs. Clyde Heckert of Tower Drive appeared to request whae: action had been taken abut: stopping foul bid&~ from falling on her property. tin McCullough reported &at on hne 18th he ordered a 50' X 15' nylon net that will be instal.led behind the first base dug out fence. That will raise the existing 12 Et, fence up to 27 ft, Mr. Jerry Mattke representing Muskego Life Spores presented a lett@r outlining their sporrs program and expressing their apprecation to the Park and Reweatlon Board for thair support. Ron Ford read a letter from Mr. DahPen complaining about pool area at the hrgh school. The complaint contained such items as lights left on, doors left open, doors not locked and area not cleaned properly. Don McCullough will meet with the head custodian of the high school, Mr. Spitsner, and a check out the cleanLng and other irregularitfos thap: occurred. The elect:lion of officers was held and the following officers were elected: President - p&hard Atrowood Vice Presfdent - Richard Manchester Dfrector - Ronald Ford Secretary Joyce Krygfer A discussion foEaLlowed concerning a treasurer. Mr. Alcrowmd recommended Councbl act&on and board approval, instead of an informal function. pt was decided that the secretary and treasurer would be informal. for a brief pen%od on a trial basis. The Mayos and City Clerk are to be invited to the next meeting to clarify budget end purchase order procedures that are required. The mfnuees of the June meeting were discussed. Ron Ford explafned that the Waukeshs County Health Department rakes weekly water samples and the bacterial count of the waEep in Little Muskego Lake is well below the 200 count, which is considered safe for swimming. .a ME. Armmood moved, as seconded by Hanchester, to approve the June minutes. Motion carried. WcCullough said that the parks would be trimmed. Dick Arrowood reported on the bad condition of the ball diamond at Kurtb Park and requested that action be taken to improve the diamonds. McCullough said he would do what he could before the All Star Game on August 4th. John W&kowsk% requested additional money for the two playground assistsants et Jensen Center because of thefr fncreased responsibility and work load., Thas is due to h&s job as Acting Recreation Director and in addition eo being Supervisor at Jensen Center. Ron Ford explained that no money was avaflabae because the sefarfes were already approved for this year. Old Business Ron Ford read a letter frm Park Planner Dave Schrieber stating that for a Master Park Plan for Kurth Park and Lions Park on a jodne basis would cost $1200 for Lions Park and $1500 for Kurth Park. If planned separately it would cost an additional $200 for Lions Park and $300 for Kurth Park. De l presented the contract for planning ehe 3% acres at Lions Park and the 6% acres at Kurth Park+ The Planner would prepare a detailed study of the sdite, a suitability seudy, and evaluation of existing recreation, and provide proposed site plans and cost eseimates. The owner (Park & Recreation) would provide a typographical map, program usage and a property owner map. Arrowood moved, Manchester seconded to forward the contract to the Common Counc%I for Efnal approval. Discus&on followed, motion carr2ed. Ron Pord presented the plans for Idle Isle and Schmidt Park that will be submiteed for bfds as soon as ehe plans for Idle Isle are returned from DNR. Arrowood preseneed the contracts for payment for baseball coaches. They were for the followeng: Joe Beatke Lakes and Varsity Coach Carl Scheckowski - General Manager Tom Seroogy m Puddles Coach Me explained that even though the Puddles Team was cancelled due to an &ministrative error not caused by Seroogy, he thought thae $100 should be a payed for hfs preseason coaching and preparation. Arrowood moved, Mancheseer seconded, to approve use of Muskego High School swimming pool and track facilieies by Piuskego Ldfe Spores Inc. for hours indicated until August 2nd.
