PRB081974minutestiil?lJT~ OF MEETING MELD AUGUST 19, 1974. 0 resident Dick Arrowood called the meeting to order at 7:b.O P.?f. present wss member ArnLt Beske. Also present: were Recreation Cirector Don Rangaa, Baseball Coordinator Joe Beatka, Acting Recreation Director John Walkowski and Park Supt. Don Mc Cullough. Absent were members Roland Linck, Richard Manchester, Robert Gumieny and Joyce Krygier. No personal appearances. Minutes of the July 15th meeting were Yeviewed. Don NC Cullough scated that the 1S3 x 50' nylon net purchased to help keep foul balls from the Heckert's property was installed. The Letter from the Mayor oi! July 12th regarding purchase order procedures was read and discussed. Dick Arrowood stated that Hr. Robert Kreuser and Park Planner Dave Schrieber could not attend but will. be at a specllal meeting that will be held at 7:30 P&L on August 28th at the City Hall. The purpose of the meeting wJ.11 be final plans for Idle Isle and Schmidt Park and to discuss the proposed baseball diamonds at Mill Valley. John Walkowski again requested a 20 cent an hour boost for the &Q playground v, sistants at 3ensen Cen.tcr playground. This increase would eompen3aCe for e, e additional responsIL&liey Incurred. ATe:er a discussion the matter was tabled until the August 28th meeting because only %XUQ voting members were present:. Amit Beske moved, seconded by Dick Arrowood, Co approve the minutes of tbe previous meeting. ixepores John Walkowski gave the final report on the summer recreation program with attendance fig&es, special eve&s and swimmia& programa. He &so reported that $101.58 was raised for Muscubar Dystrophy and forwarded on July 2933. Bon Kengas reported that the Judo 'Enseructoe who beld c3asses last year for Park and Recreation warzted EO start the classes again this fall. There would be three age groups and the classes woa~ld last for 10 weeks, 3 hoaurs a night once a week and the instructor would cost $15.00 per nPght. The board gave Don Kangas approval to run Judo olmses as he kid. :lase year. The Board requested that Don Kangas contact Jim Ewert regardfng his requfre- ments program outlines and how much aid would be requiired and seport at the next meeting. President Dick Arrowood stated that he expected an active sub-comm9ttea program for 74-75 season because too much time wss wasted at the regular meetings discussing matters that should be hsndled by the sub-commattees. Much more could be accomplished by hearing the reports and t&n voting on the matters. Mayor Gottfrfed appeared and stated that any bills not properly documented wfeh purchase orders would not be paid and would be returned. The board reviewed the bills and llnvoices on hand but bad to table them until next meeting because not enough voting members were preseng. The Vars%ty had 3 wins and 11 losses, and the Lakes wiRY. complete their season on the weekend of August 31&z, Dick Arsowood reports that the WA had a very sucessful season with competition very hot up to &he final playoff of the year.
