PRB010466minutesPARK AND RECREATION BOARD Meeting Held January 4, 1966 i Meeting called to order by Chairman Mr. Dahlen at 7:36 PM - members present were, Dr. Riess, Mr. Miller, Ald. DeAngelis and J. Sanders. Minutes of previous meeting were approved as read. COMMITTEE REPORT - Dr. Riess reported that because of inclement weather it has been inpossible to establish a skating rink at Horn Field. The Field had been plowed are was ready for the application of water when a warm spell set in - no rink - WINTER RECREATION PROGRAM - The winter recreational program is off to a tremendious start - the Woman's program has about 85 enrollment men's - 29 - Saturdays for boys around 200 - the �irls division has a poorturn out. JEWEL CREST BLDG. - It was necessary to install a floor model furnace upstairs. Mr. Dahlen and Bldg. Inspector Lee recomended an additional amount be spent for some changes in Mr. Boehm's contract - a new ceiling on the first floor paneling upstairs a permanent door separat= ing the 1st floor and second floor - these additional charges will bring the contract up to $4718.00. Dr. Riess moved we accept the proposed additional changes seconded Mr. Miller. Motion carried. A Painting contract for the interior of the building will be let this coming week so that all painting can be finished before the molding and ceiling the is installed. POLITICAL SIGNS - This purposed resolution is still in the Rules, Laws and Ord. Committee and opinion from the City Attorney indicated that there is little that can be accomplished except the outright prohibiting of placing signs (any and all) in the City. Mr. DeAngelis will keep this Board informed on any further NNYNNOX developments. Mr. Dahlen appointed a site commitee for the procurement of future Parks for the City the committee will consists of Mr. Dahlen, Mr. Miller and Mr. Deangelis. A meeting of this committee will be held at 4:00 PM January 12th, 1966 at the City Hall. A letter was read from Mr. Richard Ford afforing 3 lots to the City near the Jewel Crest Bldg. for a mere $5,000. The Board felt that the City has enough land in this area at the present time. Mr. Lloyd Peterson appeared before the Board discussing the future Summer Program - It was agreed to set up three areas this Summer Tess Corners School, Horn Field, and Jewel Crest. Mr. Peterson will meet with Mr. Smith Waukesha County to set up swimming dates. He will also start hiring personnel for the Summer Program. An ad will be placed in the Hub advertising for a custodian for Horn Field and the Jewel Crest Bldg. Wage to be $1.50 per hour. . The next meeting of this Board will be held at Jewel Crest Bldg. 7:00 PM on February lst, 1966. NOTE TIME OF NEXT MEETING - 7:00 PM LOTS OF BUSINESS TO ATTENT TO.
