MINUTES of meeting held November 9, 1965. Meeting called to order, at
7:45 PM by Chairman Dahlen, members in attendance were Dr. Riess,
Mr. DeAngelis, Mrs. Sanders; Mr. Chic and Bldg. Insp.ector'Mr. Lee.
Minutes of previous meeting were approved.
Board was informed that the Council and Finance Committee had accepted
the 1966 P6 R Budget as submitted.
Mr. Dahlen informed board that Mr. Miller agreed -to Direct the Municipal
Band for a fee of $15.00 per rehearsal.. Dr. Riess moved to accept
Mr. Maller as band director at above stated salary, 2nd Mrs. Sanders
motion carried.
Next order of business was the opening of sealed bids for the improve-
ments on the Jewel Crest Bldg.
GENERAL CONTRACTORS - 2 bids submitted - Mr. Boehm $4290.00 and
Mr. Sorenson $4495.35 - Mr. Dahlen and Mr. Lee will meet with Mr. Boehm
to go over item by itme the general contracting specifications and if in
their opinion he will meet the price submitted of $4290.00 the General
Contractor will be awarded to Mr. Boehm.
PLUMBING - 2 bids submitted Mr. Kowkal.ski and Welch's Inc. since Welch's
did not submitt and itemized bid the Board will ask him to do same. Bid
for this phase of the work will be awarded at our next meeting.
REATI G - since an opinion was expressed by all bidders that the present
system in the Jewel Crest Bldg. is not worth the cost to repair, with the
help of Mr. Lee new specs will be drawn up for a completely new heating
plant and bids will be let ou-t by our next meeting November 23, 1965.
Mr. Chic moved that the Board allocate $25.00 for purchase of trophies
for the soft ball league, 2nd Dr. Riess motion carried.
Mr. Kangas appeared before the board to discuss the Winter Recreational
Program, which might possible include the following - Classes for Womem
one evening a week - Volleyball games for men one evening a week - Sat-
urday activities at the schools for Children. Mr. Kangas will present
a complete program to the EXLlU Hoard at our next meeting including the
number pf personnel needed -- salaries, etc_ The program would run approx-
imately 12 weeks.

JEWEL CREST BUILDING
General Contractor
1. Rough horizontal rough cedar 1" thick siding on exterior of
east wall. Caulking at both ends for proper sealing.
2. (a) Complete seven window units on second floor with
combination storms and screens.
(b) One storm and replace broken glass window in stairway.
(a) Replace all broken glass and provide and install
combination storms and screens for first floor.
(d) Cover all windows with screen protection.
30 (a) Replace three exterior doors and provide kick panel on
front door.
(b) Replace all locks and provide key locks for both
interior bathroom doors.
44 Front Stoop
(a) provide 59 x 50 stoop with frost footings to a depth
sufficient enough to prohibit movement.
(b) Provide structural canopy size, sufficient enough to
• cover stoop either flat or gable to carry a 50 lb. per
sq. ft. dead load.
5o Rain Gutter
(a) Install rain gutters anchored enough to prevent sagging.
(b) Down spouts, minimum of two.
(c) Screen to cover entire gutters to prevent clogging.
(d) Splash block for each dorm spout.
b. (a) Replace and/or repair all damaged block.
(b) Tuckpoint where required,
7. (a) Finish east wall on second floor with masonite paneling
over present celotex and add eelotex where needed. This
paneling will extend From floor to new ceiling.
(b) Base along same wall.
(c) provide wall at right angles enough to cover vent.,
(d) Panel beams on first floor.
Provide and install complete grid system ceilip(- for second
floor to be extended 10 feet from floor.
9. This contractor shall be responsible for lightiz which will
be recessed in grid system of the second floor ceiling. It shall
consist of three rows of 4-tube fluorescent extending 24v in
length abo4e ceiling and translucent panels installed in grid.
Provide fixtures for stairway and hall between kitchen and
furnace rooms. Also provide exit lights.
10. Install rubber treads on existing stairs,,
11. Fireproof furnace room.
12. (a) Repair concrete floor on first floor where drain has been
replaced by other contractor.
(b) Repair all cracks and even entire floors
(c) Heraove and replace the on first floor only exoopt kitr3hcn.
(d) 4" rubber base on all masonry walls on first floor.

13. (a) Build dwarf wall to receive water closet in womenes
toilet to be finished with washable material.
(b) Install metal partition From north to south wall.
(c) Repair south wall where needed after wash basin has
been moved.
