PCM19810519CITY OF MUSKEGO PLAN COMMISSION MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MAY 19, 1981 CITY HALL Mayor Gottfried called the meeting to order at 8:07 P.M. PRESENT^ Chairman Jerome J. Gottfried, Secretary Edward Raimann, Richard Arrowood, Ald. Robert Klenz, Jack Schmidt and Walter Spann. Planning Consultant Mangiamele and Zoning Officer Gerald Lee were also present. ABSENT: Laura Kilb MINUTES The minutes of the previous meeting of May 5, 1981, were approved as mailed. It was noted that Resolution #P. C. 43-81 should be added to the agenda. NEW BUSINESS: DURHAM TRUCK AND AUTO - The Recording Secretary read Mr. Raimann moved for adoption. Mr. Spann seconded the motion, Resolution #P. C. 40-81, Approval of Conditional Use Grant. and upon a roll call vote the motion carried unanimously. lution #P. C. 41 81 - , Approval of Sketch for Land Division. WILLIAM J. NO. 1 - The Recording Secretary read Resolution SIP. C. 42 - 81 , Referral to Planning Consultant, Sketch for Development. Mr. Spann moved for-adoption. Mr. Schmidt seconded the motion, and upon a roll call vote the motion carried unanimously. JUST STOP INN - The Recording Secretary read Resolution p. c. 43 - 81 , Approval of Revised Building, Site and Operational Plans. Mr. Arrowood moved for adoption. Mr. Schmidt seconded the motion, and upon a roll call vote the motion carried unanimously PLANNER'S REPORT: CELESTIAL HEIGHTS - Planning Consultant Mangiamele reported that he planned to meet with Dick Mace to discuss the preliminary plat,- and would report to the Commission at the next meeting. ZONING OFFICER'S REPORT: CHESTERHILL ZONING - Zoning Officer Lee reported that a request had been received from a Chesterhill Subdivision resi- dent to clarify the zoning boundary line in the area of the May 19, 1981 Page 2 - Plan Commission 0 old post office on Lannon Dr. It appears that the B-3 District extends south of Janesville Rd. to include 5 residences. The Plan Commission may interpret the map to exclude those residences, or may require a public hearing to rezone that area to residen- be held at the next Plan Commission meeting to obtain the tial. It was determined that an informational hearing would views from the residents in the area, and if they agree the boundary could be adjusted to remove them from the business district. If unable to attend they will be requested to submit a letter informing the Commission of their views in this matter. COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS STATE SAND AND GRAVEL/PAYNE AND DOLAN - It was noted that a petition had been received for renewal of their extractive permit. A public hearing will be held at 7 45 P.M. on June 16, 1981 to consider this request. MUSKEG0 BEER & LIQUOR - Ald. Knudsen and Ald. Steinberg were present to discuss the decision of the Plan Commission to require the driveway on Center Drive to be moved. As Chairman of the Safety Committee, Ald. Knudsen stated that considerable research had been done regarding the safety at this location and they had determined there was no evidence of a major problem. the intersection by himself and other aldermen, which he felt indicated that this is not a dangerous corner. He also indi- cated Supt. Bertram expressed concern with moving the stop sign closer to Janesville Rd. of expansion of the conditional use grant were established, and could not change them without a public hearing. He stated further that, given the opportunity, changes will be made to accesses to bther businesses along Hwy. 24. neighborhood who still expressed concern over the safety at Ald.
