PCM19780801CITY OF KUSKIXO PLAN COMMISSION MINUTES OF MEETING FiELD AUGUST 1, 1978 CITY HALL Mayor Gottfried called the meeting to order at 8:12 P.M. Richard Arrowood, Laura Kilb, Fred 1,avey and Wayne Salentine. PRESENT: Chairman Jerome Gottfried, Secretary Edward Raimann, Planning Consultant Joseph Maneiamele and Zoning Officer Gerald Lee were also present. ABSENT Ald. Ed Dumke ". MINUTES: The minutes of the previous meeting of ,July 18, 1978 were approved as mailed. TERM'S FINISHII~IC TOUCH - It was noted by the Commission that an Architectural Sub-committee meeting was held just pri.or to this regular meeting to consider a sign request for Terri's Finishing Touch at S7E W17815 Janesville Road. Discussion was held regarding Pesolution lip. C. 115-78, Approval/Disapproval of Sign Request - Terri's Finishing Touch. Richard and Terri Knudson explained a free-standi.ng sign was necessary due to the location of the building on the property, and that the flashing lights would be necessary to direct attention to the sign. It was the concensus of opinion o.f the Commissioners that fl.ashing lights would be unacceptable, and the Knudson's agreed to remove them. others have been denied, the resolution was removed from the agenda Because of the question of allowing a free-standing sign when to allow the Commissioners tj.me to consider the request in depth. PLANNING CONSULTANT’S REPORT Planning Consultant Mangianele presented a report on the Sketch for Land Division suhmitted by Dona1.d Miller. I:e stated there was some auestion on the soil condltions of this property, -7. but stated that ‘layout of the division was more logical- than one previously submitted. in the mea, and a question concerning the proposed parkway just north of the proposed division, further study would be required. next meeting. Mangiamele, City Planner SUBJECT: THE MEADOWS (PUD) Potrykus - The planner's main concern relates to the circulation pattern of the street would eleminate a great deal of confusion caused by the forccdcurve system system. It appears that a straigth forward approach to the street layout --which is but a slightly modified grid pattern. Cul-de-sacs could remain and serve their purpose, if most of the curves were removed. The plat is pretty much a straight subdivision with the exceptiorrthe PUD does become a device for dedicating a required drainageway.
