PRESEHT: Chairman Jerome Gottfried, Laura Kilb, Fred Lavey and hyne Salentine. Planning Consultant Joseph ManEiamele and Toning Officer Lee were also present. ABSENT: Secretary Edwzrd Rajmann and Richard Arrowood. MINUTES: The minutes of the previous meeting of August 16, 1977, were approved as mailed. Page 3 - Plan Commission September 6, 1977 COMMUNICATIONS E MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS been scheduled for 7:45 P.M., October 4, 1977, to consider the petition of Duaine Langfeldt for an expansion of conditional use granted for the Langfeldt Office Building (formerly Miller Office Building) at S73 W16485 Janesville Road. It was noted by the Commission that a public hearing has LAKE DElJOON REZONING - Chairman Cottfried stated that a resolution would be introduced at the next meetinp, recommending to the Common Council that the property around Lake Denoon be rezoned from R-3 to RS-2, and that the public hearing would then be set up by the Council. since all existing sub-standard lots, which are recorded, would be recognized. Zoning Officer Lee reported that since her property was in the center of a 37 acre farm and the dogs are her own personal dogs, no kennel license. is required, and there is no violation of the city ordinance. .- POPULATIOIJ STUDY - Planning Consultant Manpjamele presented a population study prepared August, 1977, showing the projected population of Muskego in 1978 of 15,193, increasing to 28,570 by the year 2000. The average growth rate from 1975 to 2000 is g%/year. Chairman Gottfried explained that the study was necessary in order to discuss the possibility of having the Oak Creek Purifica- tion Plant supply municipal water to Muskego, New Berlin and Franklin, at some future date. MARLAJI MEADOWS - Although not on the agenda, Frank Walsh, Lannon Drive, questioned the status of Marlan Meadows. Chairman Gottfried stated that the Plan Commission is waiting for a report from the Park Board regarding the proposed parlc. After receipt of development. After approval of sewer by the Common Council, a that report, the Commission will act on the concept for the proposed preliminary plat will be submitted. Some action should be taken at the next Plan Commission meeting, providinE the report from the Park Board is received. SYATE SHNU AND GRAVEL - Chairman Gottfried stated that at the approval of the petition for renewal of the extractive permit the next Plan Commission meeting, discussion will be held reeardine for State Sand and Gravel. Since it is such a large operation, in fact the last mining operation in the city, several things will be discussed: The possibility of not only Eranting a permit to the land owner, but also requiring a license for those doing the extracting. In this case the land owner is Payne and Dolan, and the people doing the extracting are State Sand and Gravel. More importantly, because of the extent of the operation, they are having Gottfried indicated that there is not a bond large enouch to more and more difficulty in getting a restoration bond. It was suggested that the Commission members give this some thought before the next meeting. ADJOURNKENT: Mr. Lavey moved for adjournment.
