THIS NEETING WAS SCHEDULED BY THE PLANNINO COHHISSION TO
DISCUSS THE PROPOSED ROUTE OF ELECTRIC TRANSHISSION LINE FAC-
ILIT'IES IN THS SOVTEWEST PART OF THE CITY. IT WAS THE POSITION
OF TEE PLANNING CONNISSION THAT THE PROPOSED ROUTE OF TEE
ELECTRIC COHPANY FOR ITS TRANSHISSION LINE FACILITIES WOULD
ADVERSELY AFFECT LAND VALVES IN THE AREA AND TEAT THE PROPOSED

ROUTE APPEARED TO IGNORE THE NASTER PLAN OF THE CITY OF

FOR THE PURPOSE OB THE CONHON COUNCIL HEHBERS AND PLANNING COHNISSION MEMBERS TO ASK QUESTIONS OF MR. HANILTON AND THAT
IF TIHE PERHITTED QUESTIONS WOULD BE ENTERTAINED FROH INTERESTED

AND COKHON COUNCIL THE REASONS WHY THE DISPUTED ROUTE WAS
CHOSEN. THE ZONING DISTRICT MAP WAS DISPLAYED AND THE PROPOSED
ROUTE WAS REVIEWED. TEE LINE PROPOSED BY TRE ELECTRIC COHPANY
WOULD RUN PARALLEL WITH AN EXISTING LINE ACROSS SEC. 34 AND A
PORTION OF SEC. 33, THEN THE ROUTES VARY AND THE LINES ARE
PERHAPS ~000' APART dND TXE NEW LINE WOULD CONTINUE THROVGH
SEC. 32, 29 & 30. MR. HAHILTON EXPLAINED THAT THEIR ENGINEERING DEPT. FELT

OVER SOIL NAPS AND THEY INDICATED THAT THE SOIL IN THAT AREA
WAS VERY POOR AND NOT SUITARLE FOR A SUBDIVISION.
PLANNER KNETZGER EXPLAINED THdT THERE WAS SUFFICIENT
HIGH GROUND IN TEAT AREA AND POINTED OUT TEAT TEE CLUSTER
PLAN IS INCLUDED IN MUSKEGO'S MASTER PLAN. THERE WAS SDNE DISCUSSION OF A ROUTE THROUGH LOWLAND
AND MR. HANILTON EXPLAINED THAT IF SONETEING DID GO WRONG
GETTING TO THE WIRES. HE ENPHASIZED THE NECESSITY FOR THE

NEW YORK AND QUESTIONED MR. HANILTON AS TO WHdT TEE ELECTRIC

PLANNER KNETZGER SUGGESTED TEAT A ROUTE ALONG TEE RACIN~-
ALDERKAN BOSTATER EXPRESSED HIS AGREENENT TO THIS SUO-
GESTION AND POINTED OUT TEAT IF THE ELECTRIC CONPANY WOULD
FOLLOW SUCH A ROUTE THERE WOULD BE LESS LINE PARdLLELED THUS
ELININATING A HAZARDOUS CONDITION.
ALONG UNION CHVRCH ROdD dLONG TEE COUNTY LINE, BUT MR. WALRATH
ADVISED THAT POPULATION IN THIS AREA WAS SPARSE.
MR. HANILTON SUGGESTED THAT THERE WAS DENSE POPULATION
MR. HANILTON STATED THAT THE ELECTRIC CONPANY WOULD BE
GLAD TO INVESTIGATE THE POSSIBILITY OF A ROWTE ALONG THIS
LINE. MR. HANILTON POINTED OUT, THAT T~INE WAS OF INPORTANCE
BECAUSE OF THEIR NECESSITY TO TIE IN WITH OTHER LINES. IN dNSWER TO A QUESTION FRON THE FLOOR, MR. HANILTON
