SECRETARY WILLIAM CHASE CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AT 8:OO P.M.
PRESENT: WILLIAM CHASE, SEC'Y, WILLARD BERTRAM, CHARLES BUEHLER, EDMUND BUDISH AND CLARENCE WALRATH. ALSO PRESENT
WERE RUSSELL KNETZGER, CONSULTANT, AND GERALD LEE, BUILDING
INSPECTOR. MAYOR GOTTFRIED ARRIVED AT 9:40 P. M.

PREVIOUS BXETING, OCTOBER 5, 1965, -AS MAILED. MR. WALRATH
SECONDED THE HOTION AND IT CARRIED.

FOR DIVISION OF LAND. FROH THE ADOLPH SCHMIDT PROPERTY IN SECTION
12 ON TESS CORNERS DRIVE. HE PRESENTED PERCOLATION TESTS,
DRAINAGE DITCH. MR. MENGHE ADVISED THAT THE CENTER OF THE
CORRECTED TOPOGRAPHICAL SKETCHES AND A 20' EASEMENT TO THE
DRAINAGE DITCH WAS THE DIVIDING LINE FOR THE PROPERTY AND
TKAT THE AMOUNT OF LAND HE CONTEMPLATED PURCHASING WAS 2 ACRES
PLUS THE 20' EASEBENT, SAID PARCEL TO HAVE 440' FRONTAGE.
REHAINING, AS MR. MENGHE DID NOT 'THINK THAT HIS TWO ACRES
WOULD RUN THE FULL DEPTH OF THE SCHMIDT PROPERTY.
THE COMMISSION WAS CONCERNED AS TO THE L SHAPED PARCEL I I1
THE COMMISSION NOTED A DISCREPENCY IN THE LEGAL DESCEIP-
TION ON THE PERCOLATION TEST AND ALSO NOTED THAT THE SURVEYOR
HAD NOT SHOWN THE SKETCH OF THE TEST HOLE LOCATIONS.
II MR~, CHASE MOVED THAT THE COMMISSION HAS REVIEWED THE
SKETCH AND WOULD BE RECEPTIVE TO A PRELIMINARY PLAT. MR.
PLANNER KNETZGER WAS DIRECTED TO CONTACT THE SURVEYOR,
BUDISH SECONDED THE MOTION AND IT CARRIED.
CLARENCE H. PIEPENBURG, AND ADVISE HIM TO SUBMIT THE LOCATIONS
OF THE PERCOLATION TEST HOLES, TO GIVE THE CORRECT DESCRIPTION
OF THE PROPERTY AND ALSO ADVISE HIM OF THE AREA TO BE SHOWN ON
THE PRELIHINARY PLAT.
ELVYJ RICHARDS - MR. RICHARDS, WHO HAD RECENTLY BEEN GRANTED
REZONING TO 00s SPECIAL SERVICE IN SECTION 1, APPEARED AND
TO SELL HONEY AT HIS HOME. MR. RICHARDS POINTED OUT THAT THE
PRESENTED A SITE AND OPERATIONAL PLAN RELATIVE TO HIS INTENT
PLANS WERE REVERSED. HE ADVISED THE COMMISSION THAT TO THE RIGHT OF HIS DRIVE-
WAY WAS AN AREA TO PERMIT THE PARKING OF TWO CARS, THAT A ROOM
TO THE REAR OF THE GARAGE WOULD BE USED FOR EXTRACTING, STRAI-
NING AND STORING THE HONEY. A DEN WITH ACCESS FROM THE GARAGE
WOULD HAVE THE DISPLAY CASES. MR. RICHARDS ENLIGHTENED THE
COMMISSION AS TO THE EXTRACTIVE PROCESS - WHIRLING THE HONEY
FREEZER - AND IN ANSWER TO QUESTION FROM MR. CHASE AS TO DIS-
POSITION OF BEESWAX, MR. RICHARDS ADVISED THAT THIS WAS THE
POUND. MR. CHASE QUESTIONED AS TO HOW LONG' THE EXTRACTIVE
AND STRAINING PROCESS TOOK EACH XEAR AND MR. RICHARDS EXPLAINED
OUT IN A REVOLVING MACHINE LIKENED TO AN OLD TYPE ICE CREAM
MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE HONEY BUSINESS AND WAS SOLD BY THE

JOHJ PETERS - MR. JOHN PETERS AND AN ASSOCIATE APPEARED AT THE
REQUEST OF BUILDING JNSPECTOR LEE AS TO EXPANSION OF THE
ORIGINAL OPERATION OF. THIS BUSINESS. THE RECORDING SECRETARY READ A COMMUNICATION TO MR. PETERS
FROM BUILDING INSPECTOR LEE DATED OCTOBER 12, 1965, ADVISING
HIM TO- APPEAR BEFORE THE COMMISSION.
OF OPERATION. IT WAS NOTED BY THE COMMISSION THAT AT THE
OPERATION AND. THE AREA WAS ZONED GENERAL INDUSTRIAL. IN
OCTOBER, 1963, WHEN THE'ZONING ORDINANCE WAS ADOPTED THIS AREA
MR. PETERS PRESENTED A SKETCH OF HIS PRESENT SITE PLAN
INCEPTION OF THIS BUSINESS, IT WAS A WELDING AND FABRICATING

ASPHALT PLANT - C.T.H. "F" - THE RECORDING SECRETARY READ
A COMMUNICATION DATED OCTOBER 6, 1965, TO MR. BECHTHOLD FROM
HAVE HIM APPEAR. MAYOR GOTTFRIED ADVISED THAT MR. BECHTHOLD
HE RETURNED ACCORDING TO PAYNE & DOLAN. IT WAS THE COMMISSION'S
DECISION TO DEFER ACTION UNTIL MR. BECHTHOLD IS HEARD FROM.
A&P ENTRANCE SIGn - THE COMMISSION REVIEWED THE MATTER OF
ESTABLISHING AN EXIT OR ENTRANCE SIGN FOR THE NEW A&P GROCERY
STORE AT THE DRIVEWAY OF THE MOBIL SERVICE STATION. IT WAS
NOTED BY THE COMMISSION THAT THE MOBIL STATION HAD DESIRED
AN ENTRANCE SIGN AT THIS DRIVEWAY.

OPERATIONAL PLANS SUBMITTED BY MR. GLOCKNER AT THE PREVIOUS
SECTION 12 AND DISCUSSED THE FIELD TRIP TAKEN SATURDAY MORNING
OF THE GL OCKNER PROPERTY. PLANNER KNETZGER RECOMMENDED THAT A RECORD BE KEPT OF
MEETING RELATIVE TO HIS JUNKING AND EXTRACTIVE OPERATIONS IN

BUILDING INSPECTOR LEE ADVISED THAT ALTHOUGH JOHN SMOLEN'S DIVISION OF LAND IN SECS. 13 & 14 HAD BEEN SIGNED
AND RECORDED THERE WAS NOT A MOTION IN THE MINUTES INDICATING
THE APPROVAL OTHER THAN THE ORIGINAL-MOTION MADE BY MR.
BUEHLER IN THE MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 2, 1965, INDICATING THAT
IT WOULD BE APPROVED IF CERTAIN CONDITIONS MERE CARRIED OUT.
MAYOR GOTTFRIED ADVISED THAT IN HIS OPINION THIS ORIGINAL
MOTION WAS ADEQUATE, APPROVAL BEING GIVEN BECAUSE THE REQUIRED

CATCHING DIVISIONS OF LAND WHICH ARE NOT PROCESSED THROUGH
